RE: Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD VER
I see well, take your time and I hope you have taken note of the "Illegal Character in Path" error that occurs when using the version 2 of your extractor. The first one extracts fine though...

PC Specs:
Intel Dual-Core E5500 2.8Ghz OCd to 3.3Ghz
4GB G.Skill RipJaws X DDR3 RAM
PALIT GeForce GT 640 1GB DDR5
Windows 7 SP1 x64

Feel the DERP~

Temporarily removed the extractor until I can find a better solution..

So far, you will have to install the PKG file to a hacked PS3 to get the necessary stuff to make a MHP3HD ISO.
daxtsu is probably/hopefully working on something that will let users bypass having to install it to a PS3 to get the necessary stuff, so you have to be patient.

I know Piracy talk isn't allowed on this forum but there is a PPSSPP ready ISO out there, you'll have to find it yourselves.

Anyway as I have this working I'd like to do some bug reporting:

I'm getting slow down when in fullscreen mode at the entrance of the farm. Can't see any reports in the log file as it's flooded by sceAtrac3setloopnum entries

RE: Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD VER
Please don't mention downloading ISOs/PBPs again in this thread, thanks.

Anyway, as far as slowdown goes, is it VPS slowdown or FPS slowdown?

If it's VPS slowdown, that means your PC/device isn't keeping up with the demands that the game needs. HD Remasters are more demanding than their regular PSP counterparts.
If it's FPS slowdown, there's likely a timing bug. Try the CPU Speed lock option; a couple people back on page 4 or 5 said a speed of 666mhz helped the FPS slowdown(keep in mind this will make the game even more demanding).

It's VPS I think. However my PC is pretty good (i5 3750k 3.4GHz / 16 RAM / GTX 560 TI) I don't see an option for CPU speed in the emulator, is it in the ini?

EDIT: These slow downs only ever happen in fullscreen, I'm always playing at 4x render res but windowed mode runs fine.

RE: Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD VER
First go to Settings -> Graphics, then hit next page twice until you see "Show VPS", and make sure you have it set to Both, that way you can confirm which one it is.

After that, if it is indeed FPS, in your PPSSPP.ini file, set CPUSpeed = 0 to something like CPUSpeed = 666, or maybe 333. Feel free to experiment.

Thanks for the info, I edited my previous post which might help you narrow down the problem.

RE: Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD VER
Seems like 400mhz is a good value to try; In area 7 of the first hunting ground, I was getting 19-23 FPS with 222/333, but when I moved it up to 400mhz, the FPS problems went away, and it seems to have little impact on VPS(checked with unlimited, since I don't ever seem to get VPS drop in this game, lol) as well.*

*Not tested with 2 or more bosses on-screen, however..

(06-28-2013 04:48 AM)daxtsu Wrote:  I just uploaded a PKG extractor(see first post) which has a bugfix to allow for the Japanese named files to be extracted from HD Remaster packages. They'll show up as files like "0.raw", "1.raw", etc. Just rename the largest one(most likely 1GB+ in size) to EBOOT.PBP and you should be good to go in regards to extracting the ISO out of it.

Requires .NET 3.5.

Nice work mate Smile will keep an eye on this and will help you test this as in the same boat as some others (That actually have the game). I have the pkg but my new PS3 slim (Old fat one had blu-ray fail syndrome) is not yet jail broken (I love playing COD online too much to put it at risk Smile) so can't take off the EBOOT from that. Have tried 90% of extracters and none popped out the correct file (Just png files mostly). I do not really fancy risking my PC and spending my time searching for dodgy hosting sites or torrents of illegal pre-made ISO versions Sad so will wait for this legal work around.

RE: Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD VER
I finally got my PS3 and have successfully retrieved and created an ISO for the game.

Besides the no-sfx issue game runs perfectly fine... so far.
VPS is around 59.6-60.6, only have a couple of times where it dipped below 50(Leaving the bathhouse for the first time). Using CPUSpeed=400 seems to be fine... for now, went to area 7 no frame drops whatsoever. I think only when I check the "2x SSAA" option is when I can get a performance hit.
Im using PPSSPP v0.8.1-41-ge440fa6.

On a side note, Im using a DualShock2 Controller w/ x360ce. Can anyone point or tell me how to map the left and right directional buttons to the right analog stick with x360ce? I am currently using xpadder, but I want to do it in x360ce (dont wanna run xpadder everytime I play).

PC Specs:
Intel Dual-Core E5500 2.8Ghz OCd to 3.3Ghz
4GB G.Skill RipJaws X DDR3 RAM
PALIT GeForce GT 640 1GB DDR5
Windows 7 SP1 x64

Feel the DERP~
