To put it bluntly, I have the latest drivers for my graphics card and VC2010 redist installed just like the FAQ recommends. Yet, I get this error, more info:

Using Windows 8 x64, was working perfectly in my last setup, but I had to re-install everything so I'm no sure what else could be missing. Any ideas?

Yes. Intel Graphics 4500MHD.

Okay, I found out what was the problem. Actually, my driver was and wasn't updated at the same time. Sounds confusing but I was using a version that Microsoft made it themselves (WDDM 1.1) that was released for Windows 8, but the one that has OpenGL (1.4) support is the one from Intel which I had to download manually since no driver update software could find it. Thanks to wiki drivers, I got the latest one that has support for GM45 Express and the emulator doesn't crash anymore.

Maybe this thread will be useful for anyone who has the same problem.
