XMB on PPSSPP
In PS Vita system, through psp emulator, a coder named Total_noob make a buffer overflow hack (in UNO PSP game and other titles with modified savegame) to run xmb of PSP from a 660.pbp. The sourcecode can be downloaded on http://wololo.net

My question is if there are any possibility to port that XMB to PPSSPP. I tested the modified savegame directly but emulator crash, I think there is a few things that modify to adjust, but I don't know, I am not a coder.

RE: XMB on PPSSPP
Sony's XMB is a Copyrighted OS,it can't be implemented or modified in any form in any emulator. Also check this thread http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?...hlight=XMB for more info

Yeah but the method used in psvita don't modify anything and don't break copyright. It's based on 660.PBP only, see the sourcecode on wololo.net

RE: XMB on PPSSPP
To be honest, there are DOZENS of open source projects under GPL2 that use XMB and Sony doesn't seem to care.
One project is XMBPCE. Also look at the projects on Android, bloated with XMB related stuff.
I'm not saying to emulate the REAL XMB but do a GUI that is based on it.

RE: XMB on PPSSPP
design is copyrighted
idea is patented

too much risk since ppsspp is a real alternative to a psp

I think it's not very difficult to port: http://wololo.net/downloads/index.php/download/7672

Not gonna happen, sorry. We can't distribute the original XMB for copyright reasons and can't reimplement it for patent reasons.

Besides, I don't like the XMB much. The new interface coming in 0.9 will be better.

I agree with you Smile

Can you say more about this new interface in v0.9 ? Wink

RE: XMB on PPSSPP
Moreover, it will be quite difficult to emulate. Too much effort and not much gained.
