RE: PPSSPP Symbian Port
Speedhack does not work on all games. Wipeout was the main one I tested it on. But yeah some others (like Street fighter) will also work.

RE: PPSSPP Symbian Port
With version 0.74 now wipeout pulse is almost perfectly playable in time attack mod (from 40 to 60 fps). In a single race goes from 29 to 60. Big improvement!

Metal slug is still unplayable due to the fact that the backgound graphics covers characters and enemies. But got a slight speed improvement Smile

You can use a BT pad. If you have an iPega Bluetooth gamepad, you can use the ipega build here: http://www.qtness.com/PPSSPP-0.7.4-ipega.sis

Keybinding will come in a later version.

Very abnormal since my N8 (which is about 2x slower) runs it 60 FPS and 120 VPS with turbo.

Have you turned JIT and FastMem on?

RE: PPSSPP Symbian Port
Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX works but it's not full speed even if it says 60VPS. It also has some glitches like a kind of partial background flickering.

Keep it up Smile

When you say it's not full speed, do you mean the characters move slow?

Sometimes it does move slow, when i had tried before, i got normal speed, but was just once, and i couldn't repeat this. The game still feels like being 20 fps, btw, the game runs as 24 fps, some scenarios as 35 The hack says that all games runs as 60 vps, but it's not the actual speed.

Btw, for a long time, megaman has running with 20 fps since 6.1 i guess, there's no kind of speed hack for that game? I mean, it seems that some mobiles are already getting full speed on this game, could it be some kind of limit of ours mobiles?

I know that it maybe be annoying seem this kind of concern about performance, and people asking about fix and trying to get more and more speed faster, when you are already doing your best for our plataform, but knowing this info may help you, well, thx anyway, we really do appreciate what you have done so far.

RE: PPSSPP Symbian Port
Yeah right now it reports 60 VPS as long as the hack is used by the game at all. I am trying to fix it so it only reports 60 VPS if the internal game timer uses the hack.

It is a bit annoying. I think some people have unrealistic expectations and are comparing against iPad 4 (best GPU available) or some of the latest Android phones Tongue.
I actually have about 12 phones and tablets here and the Symbian ones perform up the top.

The N8 performs way better than my Nokia N9 (Single-core 1GHz + SGX 530) in pretty much all games.
The N8 and 808 perform better than my Blackberry Playbook (Dual-core 1GHz + SGX 540) in most games, for example.
The 808 performs just a little bit worse than my Transformer Prime (Quad-core 1.6GHz + Tegra 3) in a lot of games as well which is pretty incredible.

Then you must remember that Symbian devices are using an old CPU architecture (ARM11) which means the N8 is ~400MHz single-core equivalence and the 808 is ~780MHz single-core equivalence. The only thing pulling them up is the VideoCore GPU.

I do understand a bit about this kind of unrealistic expectations, because i'm doing for some time, mods for games ( re-texturing, i do not work programing), and people always think that you can do more than you really can, ignoring the limitations that you are working on ( in my case like just doing baked effects, fixing some errors from the original texture, using art to replace shaders that i can't use, things like that and a lot more), hehe.

But in your case that's greater "burden", because you are the last hope of many (including myself hehe), to see good games on Symbian =O.

But interesting that "gpu" that 808 has, comparing with others mobile gpus, with what it will be closer ( curious how it can get closer to your Transformer Prime o.O, i expected a lot worse )?

RE: PPSSPP Symbian Port
Many people do underestimate the GPU on Symbian devices too.

If it weren't for that GPU, all these games would be unplayable.

Many phones from that era (2010-2011) can barely play any games in PPSSPP.
I'm not sure if any phone from 2011 can perform better than Nokia 700/701/808 (2nd generation Symbian^3).
In some benchmarks iPhone 4S will perform better due to its CPU but the 700's GPU is technically the same or slightly better. Though the 4S is only one phone of 1000s that were released that year (all of which perform worse than the 700/701).

Really Symbian devices stopped in 2011 and we are comparing them to 2012/2013 devices.
