Umineko no Naku Koro ni Portable (When the Seagulls Cry: Portable) is the PSP port of the PS3 remake of the PC Visual Novel Umineko no Naku Koro ni. Due to size restrictions, Portable is divided in four numbered games each covering two episodes of the PS3 remakes. I've tested only the first game, but it's safe to assume that all of them are playable since they run on the same engine.

Game runs fine and without lag, characters voices and BGM play fine. The only problem, as noted, is that video cutscenes do not play but the game only uses them to the opening videos to each episode so it's perfectly possible to miss them.

Sadly, no. You can always play it side-by-side with the original PC version (which has a translation avaiable). There's also a group named Umitweak working on a fan-made patch to add the PS3 graphics to the PC version. They already finished EP1-4 and are already on the final countdown to release EP5-8.
