the PSP

RE: the PSP
I occasionally use my PSPgo for psp games that don't run on either the vita or ppsspp.
it's really unfortunate how some of the psp games most suitable for the vita aren't actually available for it(kingdom hearts, phantasy star series) which is why I'm hoping there will some day be(near) perfect emulation of those games on android.

Yeah, if only ps vita had backward compatibility, like nintendo 3ds, i would buy it without hesitation. Sad

RE: the PSP
I was just thinking, the vita has way more horsepower than current high end smartphones. Wouldn't emulation be waaay better on that system? I guess more focus is given on phones nowadays.

RE: the PSP
I don't think it's much stronger than current phones.
the vita should still be able to play psp games much better than it does now though.

It runs them at 960x544 + 2xMSAA, in what way better?

RE: the PSP
it runs them at 480x272 stretched to 960x544 with a blurry filter.
look at what graphics ppsspp produces on android at 2x to see what the vita should be capable of.

If we were talking about a different company, maybe you'd be in luck but talking for Sony, you have more chances of seeing a cow being born green and fly than that.

But the "plug-in device" isn't a bad idea, is it? Smile

RE: the PSP
Yea the plugin idea is good idea. Why don't you contact Sony game/vita division and give them that idea for them to implement. Maybe they will take it on board Smile

Sony said from PSPGo days that they'd never do such thing without commenting why, not that it's tought to guess why.

RE: the PSP
Maybe they want us gamers to focus on their vita game cards, rather than good old UMDs. Sony is abandoning the psp, anyway...Confused

What Sony wants is our money, so obviously they want us to buy their Vita game cards... Wink
