Yes, this is a known issue the Devs have yet to find a solution for.

RE: Phantasy Star Portable 2
Hey, I am new to the forums here, and I know that there is an old post detailing how to get past the Title Menu, but all I get is void-black screen after the opening video, and sound+Controls. I enabled Buffered Rendering, and turned off JIT in Dev options. My build is current as of now, and I cannot find anything to limit frame rate other than the 60FPS Check box. I remember having this game but having three stolen PSPs, therefore never finishing it, so I turned to this community, HELP me get past the title screen, I'll give you a cookie. Angel

(OH, I also tried both 32 and 64 Bit, but no change. I'm running on an Acer with 2.1Ghz Duo Core and Windows 8 DX11, 4gbs RAM.)

What build are you using?

try this:

make sure you use buffered rendering while plays PSP2

I'm using Build 0.9.7.1 and already knew about using the buffered rendering. I also Disabled JIT as mentioned about a year ago. I have combed every forum page for PSP2, but can't find anything to explain why or how I am stuck with Blank Void Black at the title screen.

EDIT! I just loaded up the latest build
v0.9.7.2-60-gce518a4 Unknown W. Brackets 2014-02-21 18:47:12 Download Download Download x86jit: Add a missing unknown prefix check.
x86, and still I am stuck at title screen with blank-ness. Buffered rendering, and still nothing but the Opening Sequence.

EDIT MK2! I got it running on my ManDroid Tablut, (2X 1.5GHz Processor, 1gb RAM) but it runs far too slow (Probably around 5 FPS!) and I wanna PC it now! Help me please fix my config settings so I can live my Phantasy.

EDIT MK3! I noticed that the Credentials do not show in PC, yet I didn't even know they were there until I ran them in Android. I think if I can get those, I'll have all I need to actually get in-game. Help me load a title menu and I'll give you an oreo, or something.

(By "Stolen PSPs," I mean I had bought 3 PSPs, and then they got stolen, lost, and bricked; in that order. The first two were fresh brand new PSP 3000s. May they rest in someone else's pocket.)

RE: Phantasy Star Portable 2
PSP2 works fine for me tho...

Maybe it because of your computer spec...

It is 32bit or 64bit? Also, do not turn off JIT since it can run with JIT right now in the lastest version

make sure you check "Multithread" in the setting.

I checked Multithread and turned JIT back on, same title screen issue. My System is a 64bit, but I used both types of build in order to see if that was the issue. (I also cloned settings so that's not it either.) My Open GL is at 2.1, and the rest is in my signature. Perhaps it's my graphics card? But I have no issues running things like Dead Space or Minecraft. I also tested the ROM on my Android Tab, and can see it's not corrupted in some bizarre way. What could be the issue? Perhaps discovering that could fix the other issues I have on my pc... Or get someone a chips ahoy.

RE: Phantasy Star Portable 2
either the iso file is corrupt or your laptop's graphic cards does not properly supports OpenGL which is required for PPSSPP to run

What's your VGA anyways? (no the chipset)

256 MBs+Shared, 720p. I can run Soul Caliber Broken Destiny, Patapon 2, and Bleach Heat the Soul 7 in PPSSPP fine, and as I said I ran the same ISO file on my android device. It's just that my android device is too slow to effectively play it. So I am trying to get PSP2 to run on my PC. I even said that my version of Open GL is 2.1.

RE: Phantasy Star Portable 2
Your ISO is likely corrupted. I had a similar issue a long time ago, thinking it was a problem with PPSSPP, and once I re-ripped my game, the movie hanging problem ceased on the same build.

Well go figure. I was smart enough to dump that ROM a couple years back, but perhaps from then till now (Or maybe my dumper sucked) Things got fried from transferring between so many systems. Blarg, thanks for everyone's attempt to help. I'll see if I can nab a solid copy from GS and dump it with my friend's system later. X.X;;;
