Best Android phone to emulate PPSSPP

Hey all, I was wondering which phone is the best to emulate PPSSPP right now. I'm kind of curious if there is a phone that can run nice looking games like Dissidia at a near constant >55 fps without frameskip.

I'm using Xperia Z and I get about 60 fps when there's no attacking, but it drops as low as 40-45 fps during heavy action. Perhaps the HTC One or SGS4 could do it?

The emulator does not have multi threading support yet.

Really SGS4 is the better. Because it have GPU OpenGL 3.0 and CPU Cortex A15. Cortex A15 have double performance of Cortex A9(I have this CPU and is very good to emulate PPSSPP).

So Xperia Z is not too god to play PPSSPP?
It has a quad-core 1,5 krait (A15) CPU and adreno 320 as GPU (Xbox like performance) and it still not enough?
Are you using frame skip?

GPU is most important part but the SGS4 GPU isn't the best.
All these top-end devices have CPUs that are more than powerful enough for PPSSPP.

GLES 3.0 isn't used yet by the way.

Xperia Z seems good also. But I don´t know if this phone have GPU OpenGL 3.0, I think not.
Open GL 3.0 GPUs has more performance than Open GL 2.0(GPUs current on Android).

I wrote without frameskip, it makes games too choppy. I don't think it's bad at all, but it's not good enough for a perfect framerate.

I have tested this emulator on SG3, with most of the games, this phone acts like my pc (maybe just a bit lower), so any phone with more power (GPU&CPU) will be do the best. Check phones benchmarks to know this.
Anyway, this emulator doesn't support multi-thread yet, so be patient till then to play psp games on mid-rage phone(like my phone !)

This constantly changes btw so implementing something like a better/faster texture handling or something can be crucial to which phone can actually emulate faster.

Basically, you all must wait for 64-bit chipset smartphones that will launch in 2014. These smartphones will include a powerful ARM Cortex-A50 chip (ARMv8 architecture) This will increase performance with current 32-bit chips.

For a quick example, I run MAME on my iPhone 5. Most games work smooth, but some games like Killer Instinct Arcade run slow. But it will work with 64-bit chips as that game was also built on a 64-bit machine. Plus emulation itself requires more horsepower to "emulate" a game, that's why powerful phones of 2013 can struggle when emulating 10 year old games that launched on less-powerful machines.

The best mobile gpu in the market right now is probably the powerVr sgx544 found on the international Galaxy S4 and on the iPhone. The Adreno 320 found on the HTC One and several snapdragon S4 phones is also pretty good. And finally we have the upcoming tegra 4 gpu, which will supposedly be the best, but tegra has had a history of being excessively hyped and marketed by Nvidia.
So in short, a phone with any of these gpus will pretty much guarantee that you can play nearly all games at full speed once ppsspp becomes more polished, perhaps in version 0.8+.
On the other hand, phones with older gpus will probably also be able to play most games well, but only after ppsspp is fully optimised, though that might take a while.

As for me, my i9000 can play ys7 on ppsspp n thats quite satisfying for me as i dont really hav enough pleasure to easily buying some new phone on da spot. I m juz upgrading my android version, changing kernel to make my RAM a lil bit bigger than usual n Overclock it n force OpenGL to run.thats all n i can play Ys7 on my lovely i9000

wrong the powervr in the s4 doesn't support open gls 3 but has the highest clock speed and highest benchmark performance and the current cpus will be more than enough to run it
