Can't start game--no save data?

I am new to using PPSSPP so sorry if I am asking something obvious.

My issue is that when I try to launch to The Sims 2, it just tells me that I have no save data when all I want is to start a new game. Could someone please tell me what I did wrong and how to fix it please?

Many PSP games, as weird as it is, warned you when starting that no save data was found. This is because (moreso in Japan) people tended to switch memory sticks and sometimes it was a mistake that they put the wrong one in.

Usually you can just press X or circle and bypass the message to start the game.
