Gran Turismo PSP car sharing works unstable
It has happened to me that many times the car sharing does not work and rarely does, I do not change my setting, I keep the same that I use when I play races and it works correctly, but when I want to share cars there is a problem to do it, when me and client we join the room stays on the screen of "Exchanging information" and does not go from there, a few times if it worked, but most of the time it does not work, there was even one time it worked, but since we could not complete the transfer (I had received the client's cars but he did not receive mine because he left the room during the transfer) we tried it again and it no longer worked, we tried like 3 times but nothing. Why is it sometimes that it works and it doesn't work? What can I do to make it work? By the way I use VPN (ZeroTier), sometimes I use UpNp which recently worked for me for sharing but I don't use it much because this one is also fickle and doesn't allow me to join rooms sometimes

This is my setting if you can detect that something is wrong:

Network:
- WLAN (Checked)
- WLAN Channel (Auto)
- Discord "Rich Presence" (Checked)
- Built in PRO Ad Hoc Server (Checked)
- IP Adress (My IP or Sushi cat server depending of the online method)
- UpNp (Checked or unchecked depending of the online method)
- Original UpNp Port (Checked)
- Port offset (1500)
- Minimum Timeout (0)
- TCP no delay (Unchecked)
- Forced first connect (Unchecked)

System:
- Fast memory (Unchecked)
- Ignore bad memory accesses (Checked)
- I/O on thread (Unchecked)
- Force real clock sync (Unchecked)
- CPU speed (222)

RE: Gran Turismo PSP car sharing works unstable
There was an issue related to VPN and socket buffer size, apparently VPN doesn't work well with small buffer size, may be this game is using small buffer size for sharing cars.

May be i should add an option for user to change the minimum buffer size limit to see whether there are more issue related to buffer size or not...

Btw, you may want to enable/checked "Force real clock sync" for multiplayer, because it could help prevent desync on some games.

There is also a framerate issue with this game.
If you play over the internet or maybe even locally the frame rate will drop to 30 almost all the time.
If you play on real PSPs the framerate will retain 60 fps most of the time.

There were an issue of FPS drops in vulkan with this game but it got fixed as i remembered, may be try a different graphics backend to find the best one?
There were also an issue FPS drops related to OpenGL on AMD GPU on Windows, are you using AMD GPU such as Radeon? https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp/issues/13460

RE: Gran Turismo PSP car sharing works unstable
I have reviewed, and I think it is because of the difference in performance of users (slow game emulation, slow connection, distance between users, etc.), several causes that I have seen are that users do not use same CPU speed or use the OpenGL engine (which is not recommended for GTPSP), I have also seen that if a user opens or uses the chat during the exchange of information it never works, by not doing so it works (It can be used in the message that if you want to give/receive the cars), I think that opening it causes desynchronization so the game will not be able to process the information of the garages and it will get stuck. Lately it has worked correctly for me, however, there are users who live on the other side of the world and I am not able to share cars even taking into account all those possible reasons, the only cause I can find is the distance.

RE: Gran Turismo PSP car sharing works unstable
Hmm.. that is strange if chat affecting it, since the chat is going through AdhocServer instead of P2P like game communication, and they're using a different kind of protocol.

RE: Gran Turismo PSP car sharing works unstable
The problem is not the chat itself, the problem is that the game speed drops slightly when opening it, causing desynchronization. Basically anything that slows down the game emulation makes the info exchange got stuck.

RE: Gran Turismo PSP car sharing works unstable
Hmm.. i didn't know opening a chat window could cause FPS to drop, usually FPS may drop when the game is loading some files (ie. Loading screen).
The game might be using a short timeout if it's affected by speed, have you tried increasing the Minimum Timeout? it's near the bottom of Networking settings.
And also try Enabling Force real clock sync (on System settings)

RE: Gran Turismo PSP car sharing works unstable
Well, once I opened the chat with the screen resolution in ×4 (Rendering was in ×2) and it gave me a hit of lag, and by my common sense I think that with a lower quality it would happen too. Maybe for share/trade would be better reduce graphics the more posible for increase the sucess probability.
