Valkyria Chronicles 2 AI upscaled

Texture pack for Valkyria Chronicles 2 using AI upscaled textures.
Compatible with EUR (ULES01417), USA (ULUS10515) and JAPAN (NPJH50145) versions.

Used the unofficial spanish translation created by Selvaria Team, although english and japanese textures have also been included.

There are still textures to be dumped/upscaled.

I have used ESRGAN with the 4x_fatal_Anime_500000_G model.

It does work fine with ULUS10515, I only needed to rename the directory and update textures.ini to include the variant:

@efonte, I noticed that some textures (8 for now) are not present in the pack by activating the dump setting. Would you be interested in updating the pack eventually if I upload the originals?

While it might be too early to consider, there are several very similar textures, which seem to be growing (e.g. 00000000165df8c67c728676). Currently there is almost a thousand of them. I wonder whether they should/can be filtered.

Actually, it would also help if you provide some info on the preferences and used for optimal visuals. E.g. I had to change the rendering to 4xPSP to get much better looks, and it was not too obvious. I also saw patches like this one, but have not tried them.

This will be a clumsy explanation, but if filenames have a simillarity in them it's possible to filter them by inserting them into Texture.ini file.

In a texture pack I'm working on there are couple textures hashes I use to filter like this:

000000000000000049c302d3 =
000000000000090900000000 =
000000000000070700000000 =
000000000000080800000000 =
00000000b9eaab6eda869eec =

909 707 and 808 tend to have varying numbers after that, but if they are inserted like that whenever I dump textures those textures won't be dumped anymore. Basically find what numbers don't differ in dumped textures and replace differing bits with zeros and insert it into texture.ini file with equal sign in front of it.

These look like animation frames for the ragnite boxes with different lighting like this one: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/valkyr...0325140217 Perhaps they even are genuine. Does PSP support shaders? If it does, there can be quite many of these.

each has like 1k matches in your pastebins. I believe if you insert both hashes exactly like that into .ini file it should stop dumping those textures. while I don't know how many of those would be unique textures... Surely it's not 1 thousand unique textures, so that should reduce the amount of "noise" so to speak.

ArcEnCiel, oh, I do see it now. I did not quite realise that these similarities may happen roughly anywhere in the line not just in the prefix. Yes, this does solve the matter at least for the time being. Thank you.

After updating textures.ini and removing the matched files I have 125 new textures, and most if not all are legit now.

You're welcome. Textures matches can happen in one of 3 sections (beginning, middle and end) in hash since they refer to different stuff.

Updated the pack, I have included the textures that vit9696 has uploaded (thanks!!!) and also others that I had. Now there are textures of the interface of the usa version and the japanese version.

In total I think there are 192 new textures, also I have deleted a lot of duplicate images.

I have applied the model 4x_fatal_Anime_500k_4x_FatalPixels_340k_interp_075 instead of 4x_fatal_Anime_500k which I think looks better.

Hi efonte! Thanks for an update. I updated the pack locally and will continue gathering new textures. After removing the textures from this pack including the ignored ones I have 262 more as of April chapter. Guess I will upload this closer to the game completion or at least after completing the first half.
