Persona (1) - HD UI (v3.33 - Persona Cards update)

A preview of what I'm sorta working on.





Version 3.0 is now preliminarily complete.This includes a long-needed revamp of all the character portraits. Here is a preview of what changes have been made to the portraits: Click here to see the difference.

In order to make the game more accessible (and bearable) for modern gamers, I made the original Persona PSP game a little prettier. This looks really great on a switch or smartphone.

This took so long, I had to restart about halfway through because of text issues, so please don't hesitate to comment if you liked it.

If you find any unchanged textures, let me know and I can make a quick update.

What is changed:
- All dialog fonts looks like Persona 3/4 text.
- All other fonts use a clean HD font
- All game character portraits use official or waifu/hand edited images
- All outdoor maps have been upscaled using waifu2x
- Title screen has been slightly improved
- Battle UI has been completely HDified
- All ending stories and images have been redone
- All credits have been HDified (god that took so long)
- Movie previews in Movie Mode are now higher resolution
- All Persona cards have been upscaled (Thanks to GabrieliosP)

What hasn't changed:
- Background images and character sprites are as they were. Feel free to use the inbuilt PPSSPP upscaling on these
- Movie files are the same, still look nice
- Map UI icons are left the same as they look fine

What I might do in future:
- Finish up the casino games (make it a little tidier)
- Get some of the UI element fonts looking closer to their originals

By popular demand: How to apply these textures
You need: An American rom image of Persona PSP (ULUS10432 is the ID). I use this with an undub version and it works fine.

1. Install PPSSPP
2. Load up your rom.
3. Go back to the menu and create a game config (this gives this game its own settings)
4. Go to Game Settings > Tools > Developer Tools
5. Check the box near the bottom that says "replace textures"

6. Inside your PPSSPP folder, there will be a folder somewhere called PSP (mine is in PPSSPP/memstick/PSP)
7. You should see a folder called TEXTURES. If not, make it and go in.
8. Create a folder called ULUS10432 (that's the ID of American Persona PSP)
9. Copy the contents of the download above into that folder.
10. Play!

Alternate Fonts: If you want something closer to the original fonts, there is an ALT file in the fonts folder. Switch the filenames of that with the non alt version. into the UI folder.

3.21 Eriko's portraits have been tweaked.
3.2 Have re-added the official artworks as an option. They look pretty good.
3.1 Added USA Localization portraits.
3.0 All portraits are now redone in a better, uniform style.
2.5 Made good progress on the casino games. End credits flashbacks look nice too. Used ESRGAN on maps.
2.4 Added HD movie thumbnails in the movie section. Still haven't done them in the credits section.
2.3 Updated the title screen to be a bit more HD. Made the movie menu a bit more reliable.
2.2 There was a missing zero in the font, and the battle damage font was using a thin font. Thanks to GabrieliosP on GameFAQs
2.0 Rehashed everything. Everything seems to be working great now. All endings.
v1.7 Added more NPCs, pink maps, fixed a title issue.
v1.6 Added maps from the Ice Queen path. Fixed issue with Fusion text.
v1.5 Added Aki and Dr. Nicholai's art. Removed Nanjo specific battle texture. Fixed issue with some overlapping Text textures.
