How do I use alt without activating what windows alt does?

Hi I'm new here. Using this emulator mainly to play Monster Hunter. As I have only small qwerty keyboard, there's not many room for natural finger position if not also using modifier key such as ctrl shift and alt. They are what I feel the most natural for my finger to press along with L,P,Semicolon, and apostrophe. But I cannot use alt and ctrl key for obvious reason. Can they be used as button mapping? And can I disable ppsspp ctrl hotkey?
