I couldn't get it to process MP3 files (it gave me a divide by zero error), but creating a disc image, mounting that in a virtual drive and ripping the songs from that worked.

I noticed that they play at a lower volume than the in-game radio stations though.

It's too bad that they didn't just add the custom track option as another station on the radio selection, so that you don't have to choose one or the other. Of course then you wouldn't be able to switch songs, but you can't do that with the radio stations either.
