Vulkan underperforming - Android
I'm on version 1.6.3-228 and see vulkan really underperforming compared to opengl and to 1.6.3 stable.

With dissidia 012 i'm reaching 18 fps on menu with vulkan compared to 30 fps at all times with opengl using the same settings.

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD can only make 30 fps at 2x rendering resolution on vulkan, while opengl reaches 30 fps with 3x rendering resolution easily.

Don't know if it's supposed to work like that, even though i've been following the great opengl evolution in 1.6.x.

I've tested this with my Motorola Moto X4, snapdragon 630, 3gb ram, adreno 508.

RE: Vulkan underperforming - Android
I'm not seeing this behavior on my Snapdragon 835 device, vulkan definitely improves performance in mine.

Sapphire Nitro+ RX480 @1.4Ghz

RE: Vulkan underperforming - Android
Strange, I've tested with more games and opengl almost always gives a better performance.

RE: Vulkan underperforming - Android
Vulkan on Android are getting worser and worser. Now almost all games have massive slowdown, I'm using 1.5.4-974 because it's one of the last where performance is almost perfect.

My Android device:
Motorola XT894
JB 4.1.2 (debloated stock)
GPU: PowerVR SGX 540
DualCore Cortex A9 1,2 gHz (overclocked to 1404 mHz)
RAM: 1gb

RE: Vulkan underperforming - Android
There are a few games that have been adversely affected by the latest Vulkan updates. But for the most part, it's still better performing in most games I've tested on my Snapdragon 820 phone and Shield TV. And I'm on the latest git builds.
