PPSSPP Android Black screen only after switching between apps or home and back

Hi, this is a bit of a wierd issue, I tried googling it but all the results I came across are for those who have black screens whens starting up a game.

However in my particular scenario the game works perfectly fine... until when switch from PPSSPP to another app or to my phone's home screen and then going back.

Then whole screen besides the overlay is black, the game is still running in and the sounds work fine I just can't see anything.

Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated, cheers.

I am using a Samsung Galaxy S8 on a recent firmware.
