Patapon 3 controls seem to randomly unresponsive + The menus have crazed inputs

I don't know why but patapon 3's controlls seem to have become rather unresponsive, both completely ignorin inputs and sometimes counting a single button press as multiple of them rendering the game completely unplayable.

There don't seem to be any other problems, the game runs at solid 60 without stuttering or lag, it's just the inputs that are broken.

At the same, I don't know if it's related but while visiting the PPSSPP menu, it seems to constantly force the highlighted button to the right as if someone is spamming the -> hey and randomly closing the menu on it's own occasionally.

I have no idea what causes any of this, I've tried using both a controller and the keyboard, unplugging the controller and repluggining it but nothing seems to help.

Any ideas?
