Apply game update without PSP.
Hey! I no longer have a PSP and since PPSSPP doesn't support iso_tool's Game Update setting, is there any other way to apply a game update to an ISO without a PSP?

The files are PARTY.EDAT, PBOOT.PBP, and SYSTEM.EDAT.
I used UMDGen to look inside an ISO, but I don't know where should I place the files.

RE: Apply game update without PSP.
Short list of things which require PSP include:
- all game updates,
- many dlc's(which require updates),
- some demos,
- most fake signed homebrew that by stupid luck used affected demos key,
- few commercial games.

You can't decrypt anything without knowing the key, PSP includes those keys on physical chips like Kirk and Pauth so it's not a problem.

Other software which runs outside of PSP isn't soo lucky and depends mostly on a project called "Kirk Engine" which got it's keys from PSP emulator included on the PS3(possibly also PSV) which missed quite a few keys and that's why it's a problem.

So no it's NOT possible to update games without involving PSP, it doesn't matter what software you use and what you try, what we do have is huge anyway without those public keys everything would have to be decrypted.

Darn! Well, thanks for the insight!

But I do have a vita (not jailbroken), is it possible to do it with a jailbroken vita?

RE: Apply game update without PSP.
Afraid not, it's also just an emulator with limited selection of keys ment to boot games.
If Sony wanted to sell an updated PSP game on their other platforms they would just release an updated version in their store, it's not like they had any reason to support UMD games on hardware without umd drive.
