Cracking sound
Howdy! I just got a new laptop and was very excited to download the emulator and relive some of the fun games I was playing ages ago. Graphically everything works fine, it works great with my controller, but the sound crackles and pops a lot. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

RE: Cracking sound
The crackling sound generally comes from not running at a locked full speed but having little slow downs happen. As for the solution to this it depends on a lot of things you have not mentioned
Hardware specs of the laptop: Game(s) you are trying to play that have the issue: Screenshots of your settings are very useful (graphics, audio, and system [well the top half of system anyways]): Also any other info that may be of use. Examples include if you are using 60 fps patches or any cheats in general, or anything you think might help. |

RE: Cracking sound
Patches and cheats, definitely not, I have no idea how to do any of that.
I have an Intel Core i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50 Ghz or 2.70 GHz, seems to have both. 8 Gigs of Ram It seems most pronounced with Dissidia. I turned on viewing FPS and it sticks pretty close to 100% What kind of settings are you looking for? |

Pretty much all of Graphics you can skip overlay and debugging if you want Audio fits on the screen so 1 screen shot should get all of it anyways In system really only Emulation is really needed I was also curious of the general section too though. |

Here you go! Thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate it. I'm away from home for a week and a half and I need some games to keep me from going crazy.

RE: Cracking sound
Try setting the audio backend to auto since i think it will use the faster method if it is compatible and only use the compatible one if it is needed.
Also for rendering resolution auto 1:1 can be deceptively taxing on systems since if your screed resolution is 1080p and you run full screen it will adjust the resolution to 1080p if you have a really nice screen on a weaker laptop (1440p or higher) it can really cause performance issues Some side info 1x psp = 480 x 272 2x psp = 960 x 544 3x psp = 1440 x 816 4x psp = 1920 x 1088 5x psp = 2400 x 1360 So try one of the X resolutions and see if the combination of that and the audio backend helps out. |
