A prob with my sd card....

Hi anyone have this prob.. iv been flash a few custom roms recently and my sd card seems to have got smaller/less capacity. Ots a class 10,16 gig now 14 gigs... also i tried formattin on my pc still the prob persists

You should have < 15 GB of total space.

Technically, that's "GiB" although I hate that terminology. Anyway, hard drive, sd card, SSD, thumb drive, etc. manufacturers all label their units in metric units (1000) not the way computers do (1024.)

Most people think the difference is small (2%), but it adds up because it's in powers.

16.00 (retail size)
* 1000 * 1000 * 1000 / 1024 / 1024 / 1024
= 14.90 gigabytes of space

This is also why if you buy a 300 GB SSD, you'll find it only has 279 GB of space on it.

ok thx for reply, thing is im sure when i first bought this.. it was about 15gb ish iv lost a gb some where,also iv found out its something to do with partition, iv backed up and formatted but im having trouble partitioning?? thx anyway. also i realise some space is preused for system etc so it still should be about 15 gb not 14 gb.I think i may have done it when using cwm before installing a rom.

For some reason, the way it counts your total and free space around versions of Android differ so it will report different values depending on the ROM you use.
