RE: Final Fantasy IV : The complete collection
I'm already using the settings you've described and I've tried many other variations as well. Still renders nothing but the background image in combat after the last update on nexus 7.

I'm using ppsspp ver.9.1.2. it's playable on my nexus7. you have to turn buffer rendering off and no frame skip before you get into the game.

RE: Final Fantasy IV : The complete collection
OK so turning off frame skipping did fix the combat rendering, but without at least 1 frame skip, all the audio is garbled and full of static, any ideas?

As of 9.1-32, Splines have been implemented, so the spell effects should more or less look correct now. Thanks, Henrik!

RE: Final Fantasy IV : The complete collection
Splines aren't fully implemented, it's just the fake implementatoin from softgpu that doesn't actually subdivide. However it might still look OK-ish, like it does in loco roco.

Firaga looks much better now. (well at least its flame effect is fine, but the ball part of it looks like it doesnt have a texture xD)

RE: Final Fantasy IV : The complete collection
Tried to play using 0.9.1 and the latest build from orphis.net, but the dialogue text is missing even if I use non-buffered rendering and have frame skipipng off.

Running on Android, Galaxy Note II.

I have the same problem with the fonts even with the buffered rendering off, I'm using ppsspp v0.9-3-g0a9671d in Mac OS X with Intel HD 3000

Try keeping up with the latest revision. That should hopefully resolve your issue.

Like Ultimacloud123 said, this is a known issue in the 0.9 releases that was fixed in the updated official 0.9.1 release

RE: Final Fantasy IV : The complete collection
I looked through the thread and people with the Exynos and Mali chipset phones can not get the text to display regardless of settings. Snapdragons and Adreno chipsets work fine though.

RE: Final Fantasy IV : The complete collection
It's finally happened, AMD/ATI folks!

That's right, for those of us who're unfortunate enough to be using those cards for PPSSPP, this game is FINALLY playable on our systems with full text displayed in either Non buffered rendering or Buffered Rendering modes. Thanks to raven02 for the fix.
