PPSSPP runs fine on my IGP, not on my HD7970
Hello,

I'm using the last version of PPSSPP on :
1) My desktop PC - Radeon HD7970 Ghz + i5 Quad
2) My laptop - IGP + i5 dual
3) Macbook Pro retina 13 with IGP (iris) + i5 dual

PPSSPP is great and runs perfectly fine with God of War and Wipeout on my machines 2) and 3)... but runs slow on my 1)... which has the most powerful CPU and GPU

Is there a known bug with AMD GPU ?
How to understand and fix the problems ?

The incredible thing is that on my machine 1), if I use the Fast Forward key, it accelerates a lot the games which runs perfecly smoothly during fast forwarding !

Many thanks

Which PPSSPP version and the settings you're using? PPSSPP ins't a heavy emulator, even an old dual-core could run the most games fine, the most Intel iGPUs can run it too.

Phones: Poco F3 8GB/256GB (Snapdragon 870 5G) and Redmi Note 6 Pro 4/64GB (Snapdragon 636)

PC: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 / 16GB RAM DDR4 3600MHz / NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti 6GB / Windows 10 Pro

Yes I know, and the most incredible thing is that I use the exact same settings on all my computers.
I've tried with standard (out of the box) settings and with all speed hack on, with native resolution and output...
Impossible to understand what's going on.

Is there a known bug with ATI/AMD drivers ? Or with Windows 10 ?

Which drivers you're using? I used Windows 10 for some time, and didn't have problems with PPSSPP, ran just fine. Also use MSI Afterburner to check CPU and GPU usage while running the emulator.

Thanks for helping.
I'm using the last version of the stable drivers (no beta).
God of war's framerate oscillates between 25 and 60 fps, with frequent drops (it must be 30 fps most of the times).

What about CPU usage and temperatures?

Hi again,

After updating my AMD drivers, games run much more smoothly, even if it's still less smooth than on my Macbook pro 13 with it's IGP..

If you change the backend to Direct3D, do you get different performance than with OpenGL?
