Custom firmware help
The FAQ says I need to get custom firmware. I looked it up like it said, and I found a website with a simple tutorial (I Googled psp custom firmware and clicked the first option, wololo.net) Unfortunately, it's a little too simple, and doesn't explain where ProCFW goes in the PSP. I have the PSP connected via USB, and I've tried putting the download in all the files, but nothing works. I do have it updated to 6.60. Can someone either tell me how to get this to work or another one that is easy to get to work?

RE: Custom firmware help
You mean this tutorial, right ? Smile
I think you have read it too fast, here is what I found after a quick search :
Quote:To install the 6.60 Firmware, just unzip the archive on your PSP’s memory stick, in the “PSP/GAME” folder (you should end up with an “UPDATE” folder in the PSP/GAME folder, if you do things correctly), then run the update from your PSP menu.

RE: Custom firmware help
Oops, I went too fast ^^

But it's nearly the same anyway :
Quote:The Pro CFW archive provides several subfolders in the “PSP/GAME” folder. Two of them are interesting for us: the FastRecovery and the PROUPDATE folders. Those two need to be extracted to the PSP/GAME folder on your memory stick.

Assuming you extracted the files correctly, you will see a few new applications in your PSP’s Game menu. The one you will want to run in order to install Pro CFW is “Pro Update”. Just run it.

That’s it. You can erase the “ProUpdate” folder from your PSP, but keep the “FastRecovery” one.

RE: Custom firmware help
Did you make sure you chose the right tutorial, based on your PSP model ?

RE: Custom firmware help
I chose the right model, but I think I may have figured out what I did wrong. I didn't extract the custom firmware download, I just put it in as it came. I'll have to check to make sure, but I believe that this is the problem. Do you think that would be the correct thing to do?

RE: Custom firmware help
Yes, you get a .rar archive, therefore you must extract it Smile
