I noticed with the default PPSSPP font, the text is too big in the various menu, leading into it being displayed wrongly.

If you replace the PPSSPP font by the one at the "weird text" section on the bottom of that page :
emulation-general.wikia.com/wiki/PPSSPP
(removed the http as my post count is not allowing me to make it clickable)

It seems to fix the problem entirely.
