"Failed to load state"

I was playing normally Persona 3 untill yesterday but when I started the game today and selected to load the the first saved data, it said: "Failed to load state". The others saved still work fine but the most recently don't. I even tried other emulators but it still happens.

I recommend saving using game saves where possible.

Anyway, this probably means something went wrong saving the state. It could have several causes, depending on what version of PPSSPP you're using.

Not all that long ago, if you ran out of free space, it would silently corrupt your save state.

If you're not using the latest git build, we've even found and fixed bugs that could lead to a save state becoming corrupted in the latest git build.

It can also mean file corruption or a crash while you were saving. Ultimately, that save state is broken and not likely recoverable.
