Phantasy Star Portable problem
Hey, I'm pretty new to the forums so please forgive me if I've just posted this in the wrong section Tongue.

Anyway. Whenever I boot up Phantasy Star Portable(US), I get through the character creation just fine, however when I select story mode it immediately crashes and gives me this:

Oh and I've got the latest driver installed for the gpu but it still doesn't work. I'm using the latest version of PPSSPP.

Anybody know how to fix this? Sad

EDIT:
Nevermind. I got it working, although the dialogue boxes don't display any text.

RE: Phantasy Star Portable
PPSSPP Version : 0.9.8
OS : Windows 7

My sister tried playing Phantasy Star Portable and of course got the missing text problem, which lead me here. We updated from v0.9.5 and the propblem still persisted. Although Software mode fixed the problem the game ran incredibly slow on my sisters computer (11-20 FPS).

CPU : Amd Athlon II x2 270 (3.4 Ghz)
RAM : 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz
Video : ASUS AMD Radeon HD 6850 1GB

(My computer is almost double that power)

I've yet to try it on my computer, as I'm currently playing Phantasy Star Universe on the PS2.

I'm sure my sister (as well as I) would like to know if theres any fixes yet, or at least a way to make Phantasy Star Portable run smoother in software mode (if at all possible with her specs)

@nekomaster

The missing text problem in PSP was "fixed" sometime ago, but the "fix" has been pulled in the latest dev builds because it caused a graphical regression to another game.

Use v0.9.8-323-gf2bf8df from the buildbot (scroll down on the site to find the build) as it was the last one to have the fix before it was reverted.

(Any build from v0.9.8-103-g5c81434 up to v0.9.8-323-gf2bf8df will do, as the fix was introduced in v0.9.8-103-g5c81434)

PPSSPP Modern Testbed:-
Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz
16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:-
Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

The text issue is also fixed in the latest versions, so long as you switch to non-buffered mode.

Yeah, the text is there and the game is fully playable in non-buffered rendering mode. If I switch to buffered mode, the text disappears again. I'm using 9.8-401. I can try to make a screen recording of this later tonight, if you want.

No, all text (including dialogue) works for me as long as I'm in non-buffered mode.
