psp 128gb via 1 mirco sd hc + single adapter
i was asking here

http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=14528

if any of u have idea will 128 gb micro sd card work on psp with single (NOT DUAL) adapter and no 1 seem to know beside Unknown who said it should work

so i brought this card with this adapter

Micro SD + ADAPTER <<BIG IMAGE>>

and well it works like a charm Wink

PSP space <<BIG IMAGE>>
btw i did pay for it 60 PLN (polish currency) which is around 16$ so anyway it was cheaper than 2 54 gb cards which would cost me like 35 PLN (9,5$) for 1 card

Well, that's because the industry uses SI units of measure. It's a crock really.

A 128GB storage card is 128 billion bytes (gigabytes) of space. However, all software measures space based on a power of 2, that is "gibibytes" technically. These are not SI units, and are multiplied by 1024 (which is a power of 2) rather than 1000 (which is a power of 10.)

24 bytes seems like an awfully small difference, but it adds up.

128 * 1024 * 1024 * 1024 - 128 * 1000 * 1000 * 1000

The difference is 9438953472 total bytes, or in other words just under 9 gibibytes. Or else just over 9438 SI GB.

So, you should theoretically only have 119 GB ("GiB" technically) of usable space with a 128 GB card. This applies even to Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo cards. Pretty much all storage is marketed based on the more advantageous measure of SI units.

RE: psp 128gb via 1 mirco sd hc + single adapter
ok so far i filled it with 50 gb and thats all i need there but problems is that i use psp mostly when i go to toilet for a longer adventure

and i use psp mostly for emulators and making save state with so much stuff on sd card now is like 4 times longer so in total i spend more time waiting for save state to well save it selfs then playing lol

with 16 gb of stuff on card it was long enough like for nes save states it was like 1-2 secs now its like 5-7

not to mention loading and saving normal games even entering any folder is long more stuff i put there more time it takes to save/load/read anything

i think i gonna buy 64 gb one now and see if any changes it will take

RE: psp 128gb via 1 mirco sd hc + single adapter
Different cards are different speeds. A cheap 128GB card might be a class-4 card, and be slow, or it might be a UHS card and be fast. Size and speed are not necessarily directly related.

You want one that advertizes it is at least a class-10 or UHS (ultra high speed) device, and definitely nothing like a class 4. These are speed classes.

A larger stick can be a bit slower, but for example my larger one is much faster than the 8GB Sony one I had before.

RE: psp 128gb via 1 mirco sd hc + single adapter
problem is that its same speed as my 16gb one cause same time it take on both cards when are filled with around 14gb of data to open a folder or make save state or in game save

and my 16gb card is class10

anyway i filled that card with that all games and emulators to realize i only play (psp minis) solitaire,ys series games and nes gba and snes games on it so in total i need only like 5 or maybe 10 gb of space so i think i just wanted to have more than i really needed

and about that size and speed not related

somewhere i reeded that with larger cards opening a folder on psp take longer cause it checks every sector or something or wtf i dont care

i think i just gonna go for 64gb one and fill it with music videos and few games+emulators and it will be ok for me

thanks any way
