Hi, so I've been trying to fiddle around with lower resolution + non-buffered rendering, but my phone (Huawei Ascend P7) crashes from nomone. Any good alternatives? Is there any res changer app that only changes resolution when specific apps are opened?

You can do this by setting rendering resolution in PPSSPP.
My Android device:
Motorola XT894
JB 4.1.2 (debloated stock)
GPU: PowerVR SGX 540
DualCore Cortex A9 1,2 gHz (overclocked to 1404 mHz)
RAM: 1gb

First, download the lastest build here.
Then, set to 1x or 2x HW Scler, This Highlighted Line:
