[Suggestion] Single key, change IP address to clipboard IP

Lightbulb [Suggestion] Single key, change IP address to clipboard IP
Changing the IP frequently is a common thing to do when playing multiplayer with PPSSPP.

It's a few steps to have to go to settings and change your IP.
Over time, this could become quite tedious!

My suggestion is:

Why not have one key to change the IP address to the one stored in your clipboard.

Hamachi, Evolve and other services often allow you to right-click and copy the IPv4 address to your clipboard.

Instead of navigating menu's all a user would have to do is press a single key.

A notification in yellow text could appear showing the successful change in IP.

Forgive me if this is the wrong section, I was searching high and low for the most relevant one to no avail. I have no significant programming experience but I think I can do something similar in autohotkey.

Obviously this is something that I would personally deem as low priority, still it would be nice to see in the future. Cool

RE: [Suggestion] Single key, change IP address to clipboard IP
IP changing dialog does support pasting from the clipboard already, so it's not like you have to type anything in nor delete whatever is there, just ctrl+V and it'll replace the one you had there earlier. It takes literally 3 clicks to open it without even having to search since it was all moved to new networking tab. In all seriousness that should not be bothersome.

I think the real issue would be that you have to change IP's soo often in the first place, which is probably "thanks" to all the third party adware people most of the time are forced to use to get anywhere when playing online. I guess Henrik already starts thinking about simplifying the whole thing, so hope that in the future people will just be able to use bigger servers like Coldbird's server is for psp, but without the connection issues and current config complexity.

And as you said with 3 steps involved, changing IP overall IS bothersome after some time.

I do have a personal reason behind this, in that I have dyslexia and I look through the Network tab from top to bottom and I don't 'see' the setting, even though it's right there in front of me.

With a keybinding that's easily remembered say... Ctrl+I. It only takes 2 clicks to switch adhoc server host.

So this simple idea, I think would go some way into 'simplifying the whole thing'.

I only see benefits here, not risks.

-No need to enter settings menu so frequently
-Increased Friendliness of GUI, if other similar keybind functions were available.
-Introducing people to PPSSPP multiplayer becomes easier (more people support ppsspp development)

In a similar way.... imagine copy pasting in word.
Pressing Edit > copy
Edit > paste

and then when someone tells you, you can copy paste via Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V then your experience changes.

If you get what I mean?

Oh wait, I messed that last info up, it's not 0x108 it's 0x8 but 8 bit, the fact that the 16 bit used 3 digits for number of lines on that site confused me;p. Ultimately through you do want 0x008 there anyway since you need 16 bit and 0 after E points to that. Anyway, just check the site Bigpet linked.

Edit: @NetSlayer ignore this post :], I had a few tabs opened while browsing forum and working in the same time;p, messed it up :| anyway sorry for your dyslexia, hope someone writes such shortcut for you.

RE: [Suggestion] Single key, change IP address to clipboard IP
Desrtking it is a bug in 1.2.2 - well known and well reported in multiple threads if you had searched.

To fix it you can:
Wait untill a new stable version with the bug removed is released..... not sure when that will be.

Install a nightly build with the fix already implemented.... just becareful there are not any other bugs or odd behavior (it is a nightly build)

Install one of the previous stable versions, before the bug happened like 1.0.1 or 1.2.1 or others on the download page of ppsspp's website.
