Cloud gaming is not possible unless you play Sega Genesis games.
Remember , Cloud gaming of games close or above PS2 level would take at least Super Fast Internet + Super Fast Computer and it'll take money about 10 times more than buying an original console.

I can play Grid games streamed through the cloud to my Nvidia Shield Tablet without a console or Desktop computer in my home. I'm on a 4 MB internet connection and have no problems playing PC games like Borderlands 2, Witcher 2, Saints Row third, and others on it. And it was free with my device.

The infrastructure is already there, but to provide adequate Cloud gaming, you have to have more server farms in regional areas to lessen latency. That's the major obstacle to overcome with game streaming services.

I'm sure PS4 is being sold greatly! And it will continue.

Not necessarily! You just need a device with a good OS and a good connection. As I said, you can play current gen gamers on smatphones or smartTVs using onlive, even if your device has really modest specifications!

Now it doesn’t run very well, of course. But I believe that in 4 or 5 years it’ll be no problem.

I was an Xperia Play gamer until my dog ate my beloved phone!

Now I’m an Xperia ZL/ZQ gamer!
Quad-Core 1.5 GHZ
2GB RAM

It works better, but i miss the gamepad!! T_T'

4-5 years , LOL!!
Who would wait 4-5 years to play PS3 games on a 4-5 inch screen? Still PS4 games will be completely out of question.

RE: Console games will be killed?
Streaming service would be a good way to play games, but isn't everybody who likes this. We haven't internet connection all the time, for example, for playing on a mobile device and I still prefer to play games on consoles, even because the mobile games are way worse, never could be compared to console games. The most mobile games are F2P, everything you do is needed to spend real money with gems or something. Even the non-F2P, aren't so challenging, and the gameplay isn't that good. I like challenging games, which you don't need to pay to win. If some day the smartphones kill the consoles, will be the day which they make less games like J2ME and more like consoles.

Phones: Poco F3 8GB/256GB (Snapdragon 870 5G) and Redmi Note 6 Pro 4/64GB (Snapdragon 636)

PC: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 / 16GB RAM DDR4 3600MHz / NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti 6GB / Windows 10 Pro

RE: Console games will be killed?
Streamed games cannot be perfect because the latency of the connection is not fast enough to support real-time action games. The commands will be delayed and 100ms is noticeable.

I pointed the problems of smartphones. It is not the problem of handheld consoles, such as PSP and 3DS. The problem of smartphones is the lack of console-quality games. PSP and DS have lots of console-quality games.

Me too. I started playing game in the 2000s and I had the entire 1990s game to play. The volume of options available now is so huge. Furthermore, mods and hacks increase the quantity of available options.

I still have not played most of the 2010s game, the exception are indie games.

PC is the best option. It supports mods and cheats.
Currently, consoles require the installation of the game and that is what I hate about PC games. The advantage is gone. PC supports many types of controllers too.
Online multiplayer is better on PC because one of the players will be the server. It means that it will continue playable after the end of the support.

RE: Console games will be killed?
let me put it this way

EUCLIDION is company which claims that they had developed a way to render graphic in a way that wont devour machine power resources even more that this graphic is ultra detailed

they refers to it as "unlimited graphic" cause they remove polygons and textures on it and replace them with atoms as they call it (actually they are just dots) where graphic is loaded only from angle which you are looking at it atm

so if you looking at lets say 3d rendered head of human in their graphic on lets say left ear than right ear is unloaded and not being rendered until you move over to it

and this way graphic is loaded from hard drive instead of from hard drive to rendering by gfx card (at last that is what i understand from this 1 guy in all his videos says)

anyway long story short here is their porn movie

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AvCxa9Y9NU

skip to 3:50 and watch 30 sec than you can start movie from the start

details of grind of sand well wtf

if this is not a fake if this is real imagine graphic on consoles tablets phones they all will be the same
and than wont be much difference which console you have unless games will be sticked to some companies like tekken was only on sony for so long

but market proved to tekken creators "namco" that to sell games this times and get $ from it you need to reach wider group of players and they did go to xbox or whatever

and imagine how will you look with lets say big ass ps5 plugged to ur TV where ur friends have small smartphone plugged in to tv and even plugging a controller in to that smartphone where he can take this smartphone anywhere and even use that device for other things like watching tv videos calling or even checking time weather or anything retarded else

i believe futures brings great things and many things we loved will pass by our hands as time goes on

i remember seeing 1st time a cell phone which was able to play games now every 1 have smartphone which can emulate games from cell phone (java games for example)

maybe 1 day we could hold in our hands smartphone which which will emulate psp and ps4 games
who knows how it will turn out

and think if euclidion is telling the truth if every game every game company have this technology what DIFFERENT than game library could they possibly offer to us? better menu? idk better logo? console color?

imagine buying microsoft's or sony's console which have different shape different color but in game they are the same cause they will have same frame rate same quality same smoothness of animation

i think only this can kill consoles

Try AntiMicro graphical program used to map keyboard keys and mouse controls to a gamepad/controller.

RE: Console games will be killed?
come to think of it

imagine the future where now we have this

2 god dam terrabyte sd card ? where my hdd is 1tb lol

imagine if in smarthphone you will have ur pc ur console ur tv everything

well we have storage for that right now in that 2 tb sd card

we lack of graphic which euclidion claims to have

and last problem is only enough powerfull cores GPUs (machines)

everything combine in to 1 single device

you guys fear consoles will be dead? you better pray your grandchildren will still use PCs

from every when technology started to advanced ppl goes ape sh!7 about minimizing it for me this

a simple invention to make ur keys and stuff from ur pocket organized in to single tool which is so god dam simple yet so functional is prove that technology will try for us to have everything in 1 place

so i fear in future we will buy "monitors" instead of TVs just to watch videos or normal tv from our phones or mobile devices on big screen

end if thats not enough

watch this

i see yougi oh fans out there in front of this table

future is unpredictable we just need to hope it will be backwards compatible and dont care about something old will be replaced with something new

cause i remember times when we had CD-DISC Players which was replaced by mp3/4 players now its being replaced by smartphones and still as long as its backwards compatible nobody gives 2 fu##s about it

i remember so loving win 98 cause all my childhood games ware working there and when moved to windows xp some of them didnt work any more

but there was virtual box to emulate any OS or dos box to emulate ms dos

so somehow there always will be a way to have something old on something new we just need to pray it will be working on new devices as good as it was working on old ones

thats my only concern and should be yours

RE: Console games will be killed?
Memristors could potentially hold many times that in potentially a similarly size. Probably 5-10 years out at best, if they figure out commercialization.

Storage isn't really the problem on a smaller device, it's heat (and battery.) But if you have certain stuff run on the server farm, and the latency-sensitive stuff run on the device (streaming jit, assets, or partially-rendered gpu commands to the device), you can win and never have the *entire* game on the device either. This is what I think the future of streamed games will look like.

Really, this is not too different from the way the web works today. Do you have the entire PPSSPP forum on your device? Have you ever pirated the entire PPSSPP forum? Is there a torrent of it available somewhere? Yes, it could be spidered, but then it wouldn't be interactive (just like you could make a movie of a game.)

about that forum thats bad example you missunderstand data transfer with data processing

there is difference in HOW NOT MUCH it takes to load this forum and HOW MUCH WOULD TAKE TO LOAD THE GAME (depending on how big game it is)

BIG BUT HERE !!!!

any 1 who launched

http://criticalstrikeportable.com/play/

critical-strike portable

will know that you have your point there is only unity3d plugin (required to play) which holds environment in which is just loaded data which is used and not stored on hdd

in a same way web browser works
it is environment for web page to which is only only some data loaded from internetz and not like downloading whole bunch of folders files and stuff

so in future i believe we wont see "download game client 4 gb" or "install game 10 gb hdd space required"

but like "to play this game download plugin 10 mb" for me that would be future which happens right now with smaller games like cs portable

Yeah I don't think that works how you think it works. It just downloads the game files to your browsers cache, which is still on your harddrive

yep you are right i have no idea how it works i just assume it works in that way or another

downloading temp files instead of having whole games on hdd or sd cards is still a difference

problem is that i have that critical-strike portable PC downloaded version
its about 162mb on my hdd and both PC version and browser version loads at same speed

same goes to game called Spiral Knights which im currently playing

http://www.spiralknights.com/play.xhtml

and anyway back to the main topic any 1 who reeded my previous post remember how i said that in future you will be able plug your smartphone to tv and use it as just big ass monitor for games and stuff

well

http://www.cnet.com/products/microsoft-w...y-adapter/

(i found it today on fb was on my main page as featured site)

i didnt not just sh!7 a brick i just sh!7ed whole wall
cause in future this will be integrated part of TVs phones consoles and any other device you can imagine

i would say future is 2morrow but seems its today we just did not realize it yet cause no 1 did tell us about it

I can assure you that I understand this very well. There are many websites and even forums with MANY gigabytes of data, larger than many games for sure (note that this counts image attachments and other data - posts themselves might be ~1KB per post or so with metadata and indexes, depending on verbosity of posters, so large forums with millions of posts are obviously in the gigabytes.) Assets are an easy thing to transfer or stream. Even when you play a console game, they are being streamed from the disc. As network transfer speeds increase, the difference from a disc will decrease.

Already you have some console games which require an "install." There's no reason a network streamed game couldn't work the same way. The installed portion wouldn't function alone, just as it does not (e.g. in PSP games) now.

It's the game code, typically the smallest portion, that is actually crucial to gameplay. Just as the post tracking system on a forum is a crucial part of having a forum; the post data (assets) aren't as useful alone (although you can still do things with them for sure.)

And yes, the future is now. There are already games that work this way. I'm just predicting that there will be more, however exactly it works.
