memstick transfer from 9.8 to 9.9.1

SO I downloaded the 9.9.1 installer and to my dismay it's it's quite an installer. I had hoped my files and settings would transfer. Instead I find hours upon hours of RPG love and devotion missing from my save files. in fact I find no correlation between the new "memstick" folder and any folder in my old 1.8 x86 programs folder.
So what am I to do? I would prefer the new build, for whatever reason, but not if Ys bites the dust.
If anyone can help me transfer my save files (and config files as well) I would be most grateful and pray to any god you wished for 24 hours.
