Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy

RE: Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy
It seems like build 0.8.1-1684 broke some effects in this game and hasn't been fixed since. Well, maybe it didn't break, but rather some initialization problem? The flickering glitch is back in this build and all others since, alpha effects don't seem to work well (get close to a wall in the stage "Pandemonium", instead of the expected transparent effect your character disappears and the screen darkens) and sometimes you get this weird mosaic effect in the screen, not sure what triggers this one but getting close to a wall and using some flashy attack triggers it most of the time.

Going into fullscreen or changing the window size fixes it immediately, so, some buffer thingy not being initialized correctly maybe?

Builds 1640 to 1682 didn't have this issue.

Also, unrelated but the Vsync option in the new UI does nothing, you have to change it from the window toolbar

I have no idea how to contact the coders directly about this issue, so hopefully someone will or they'll see it.

RE: Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy
It's not just you; the flicker is back, along with the mosaic effect (no problems triggering that in Pandaemonium). Changing the buffering mode also ends the flicker, as always.

I only use PPSSPP on Windows.

RE: Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy
Hey guys!

I stopped playing because of that annoying black screen during cutscenes.

Has it been fixed already?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, I tried the 0.9 and the text doesn't appear on the menu, and then I have a white screen, is there a config for the new version ? ^^

RE: Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy
We've got a minor issue with fonts in 0.9's release; if you're on Windows/a desktop OS, put the flash0 folder one directory above your PPSSPP executable and it should work until we fix it. Android shouldn't(?) be affected.

RE: Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy
Is it better not to update to the new 0.9 version? You know, I cannot return to an older version once I've updated to the latest one, because I am on iOS.

Testing PPSSPP on:

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.4
iPad 4, iOS 7.0.4

ASUS Notebook
Windows 8 64-Bit
8GB RAM, Intel Core i7 processor @ 2,3 GHz
nVidia Geforce GT 635M 2GB

RE: Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy
Thanks Daxtsu, now it's work perfectly.
It's way better, the game runs smoothly, there is still some arenas which are flickering, so don't forget "Non-Buffered Rendering". Maybe sometimes it's flickering at some point on the map or some battle in the story mode. For the scenario 13, the cut-scene works better (Perfectly?) than for the scenario 12.
I've got "non buffered rendering", texture filtering at "nearest" , and texture scaling "x2", "xBRZ", "deposterize", maybe there is a better config ^^

ps: to avoid flickering in story mode "frame skipping off"

Hi everyone Big Grin
I got rid of my blackscreen issue finally, somehow...

-buffered rendering on
-mipmapping on
-Hardware transform on
-Vertex cache on
-frame skipping off
-Vsynch on

Fast memory, Dynarec JIT & Multithreaded all checked. Using newest PPSSPP version.

RE: Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy
Indeed. I ran a test using my save file that I ported from my PSP console, which has every cutscene unlocked, and the black-screens are still there.
