They are ready to play(the demos...don't know about the homebrews from there(never tried them)),you just need to extract them(ppsspp can extract(i think on windows only)them by you can do it yourself

PPSSPP can run ISOs, CSOs, and EBOOT.PBPs (NOT PS1 games). It can also run raw directories which would make up an ISO (Windows only? Never looked to see since I don't make translation hacks/game mods), but that's an advanced feature mainly for debugging.

File=>Load=>File of Types shows all supported extensions.
And keep in mind that ppsspp support only psp games.
