0.9.9
PPSSPP 0.9.9 has been a long time coming but it's finally here! Here's the usual list of what's new:
  • CLUT (paletted) texturing from framebuffers supported, fixing many graphical issues like the shadows in Final Fantasy: Type-0
  • More types of framebuffer copies are now handled correctly, fixing a variety of graphical issues, like the sun in Burnout and many more
  • Better savedata compatibility with the real PSP
  • Support for more codecs used by "Custom BGM" and sometimes regular music in games: MP3, AAC
  • PMP video format support
  • Implemented some strange blending modes like ABSDIFF as shaders, fixing the outlines in DBZ Tag Team and more.
  • Emulation of the vrot CPU instruction improved - it caused cracks in FF3 graphics before
  • Many bugfixes around the UI, touch D-pad now works better when scaled large
  • Workaround implemented to support Star Ocean's stencil trickery as efficiently as possible on all platforms
  • Major corrections to module loading and memory management, fixing further games
  • Bulgarian and Thai language translations were contributed
  • Many, many more game fixes and bug fixes

Please note that some of the new graphical fixes may cause slowdown in some games. If you are OK with the previous glitches and want to play at the previous speed, there's a new option "Disable slow effects" for you. Also try the new Display Resolution setting.

RE: 0.9.9
Congrats on another numbered release Henrik, this one was very overdue.

A few questions. Will next version be 1.0.0 or 0.9.10? What things can we expect for the next release, any big features being planned? or is it all up in the air for now and things get played by ear as it goes. Where's muh Wiki?

Also what does this mean?

I'll tell you want this means, Unknown's an animal! Give this man a raise.

Not downplaying all the other contributors though, everyone HERE deserves thanks as well.

RE: 0.9.9
Multithreading still doesn't work well on multi-core cpu that use pegasusq governor. It's almost as if the cpu isn't detecting the workload from the emulator, this causes the cpu to run at very low clockspeed causing well perceived lags.

this for an example

And this also.

Thanks go out to all the developers for continuing to make PPSSPP even better.

Now its the testers turn to see what works & what doesn't, I will be putting in a lot of testing, now that 0.9.9 has been released. Smile

RE: 0.9.9
I don't know if it's worth mentioning.

Using v0.9.9-2 to play MHFU, I haven't crashed a single time in multiplayer!
I usually do 3 to 4 times in a several hours-long session.

THANKS DEVS! Big Grin

Still waiting for that v0.9.9 GOLD! Wink

Well, # of commits isn't everything. It means I tend to make more separated commits (although, I do this purposefully and for good reason.)

Also, even people not on that list deserve thanks - especially people who have tested games and given a lot of feedback. For example, sum2012, daniel229, solarmystic, ppmeis, thedax, raven02, and many others (this list just from my recent memory.) Many of whom have contributed at least as much to ppsspp as anyone listed on the GitHub contributors page has.

RE: 0.9.9
Well yeah... I wasn't trying to start a pissing match or anything here, and testers definitely deserve thanks as well it really goes without saying, especially that Solarmystic guy with his ridiculous spreadsheet reports and uploaded videos and stuff, definitely beats out those "game no work on phone" ones.
