Try to download the EUR version at [Censored] - I had the same issues with the US version, but the EUR version worked perfectly

Compatibility : Playable (I think. Watched all the cutscenes and played all the way to the second fight in the campaign mode, killed the ringwraiths, beat the trolls and the balrog at the bridge. Didn't encounter any lags or freezes.)
Settings: Nothing special. Buffered Rendering, HW Transform, x2 rendering, FXAA Post processing, auto frameskip (1). Block transfer disabled, fast memory disabled, Multithreading disabled. IO Thread enabled.

Specs of PC: Intel Pentium G2020 (Ivy Bridge, 2 cores @ 2.9 ghz), Intel HD Graphics.
