I think we should because it was so close to work. Its just that the PPSSPP didn't support EBOOT.PBP files yet.

RE: I think the PPSSPP should run EBOOT.PBP for games
I kinda supports eboots. Eboot is just some kind of archive, which contains game icons and an ELF executable file, and ELFs are supported in PPSSPP. You just have to use for example PBP Unpacker Smile
(I think you knew it already, but whatever)

It is called data.psar in eboot.pbp files if I recall correctly. Just because it isn't named .elf doesn't mean it isn't an elf Wink

i don't know about version 0.1, but 0.2 can run homebrew(and possibly unprotected demo) games in eboot format.
i doubt psn games directly off a PSP memory card will ever work because they are encrypted.

Don't bother trying to unpack EBOOT.PBPs, PPSSPP can read those - but it can't yet always read what's inside..

Yes it seems there is an EBOOT reader issue in PPSSPP.

I think this could be the main reason most of the ganes have a black screen, it could be that the iso files contain eboots, I'm gonna check my isos later.

With "Eboot2iso converter V1.1" you can extract the files inside Eboot.pbp (psp_game folder, icon, eboot.bin ,boot.bin, etc) and then create an iso and an "Umd_data.bin" with "Umdgen. V4.0" but it doesn´t work anyways, PPSSPP reads the iso and then crashes (tested with Ridge Racer 2 Demo from "PSPdemo center")

RE: I think the PPSSPP should run EBOOT.PBP for games
^ I think bumping this thread was pointles as it seems that EBOOT files already work without any sourcery. I tried some homebrew games and they all opened up, atleast on the android version Im using.

RE: I think the PPSSPP should run EBOOT.PBP for games
I think Eboot2ISO does not work with recent demos and I feel like it's an NPDRM issue.
Had no luck converting them to ISO. I mean I checked if the iso is OK on UMDGen and if it works on a PSP and it apparently is OK and it works but not on PPSSPP.

RE: I think the PPSSPP should run EBOOT.PBP for games
I have recently donated to the awesome PPSSPP project. When I run PPSSPP 0.9.6 Gold and try to load an eboot.pbp file, i.e. Torneko - The Last Hope - World Of Dragon Warrior (U).pbp from a PSX2PSP conversion, I get the error message:

Error loading file: PS1 EBOOTs are not supported by PPSSPP.

Will PS1 EBOOTs be supported in the future?
