Artifacts in the sound? Some games can have some sound artifacts in the ppsspp still, it's constantly improved and at times broken when you use latest git builds. Different sound processor shouldn't make much of a difference except of course it's subtle quality if you have a big/expensive speakers that are able to deliver it. Normal desktop speakers will not really give noticeable difference in sound between expensive and cheap built-in sound chip and if a game has still some emulation issues it wouldn't matter in the first place. However if this happens in every windows application maybe your sound chip is dying? Nowadays even many usb headphones have their own built-in sound chip, so if you have ones like that you could easily check if it's not by any chance the onboard realtek chip dying it's always a possibility especially if it starts getting more noticeable with time or during playing when your hardware starts generating heat.

Also make note that currently ppsspp does not have any sound stretching/async features which means that if you don't have a 100% speed in game, the sound will start breaking, stutter etc, so if you set PPSSPP graphics above to what your system can handle it can easily do that. PSP games are usually easy to emulate, but still ppsspp allows to upscale graphics up to 10x which has 100 times higher pixel density than default psp res, this is not anything that should be taken lightly.

Well non-buffered mode is a hack, it just prints out the graphics directly to the screen without as the name says a buffer, so nothing really can be done about it.

Since FF2 is a 2D game, and you want sharpness + no jaggies try using texture upscalling(buffered rendering ofc). It will get rid of most jaggies in 2D games(or 2D elements in 3D games) way better than AA could through not all people like the result hence we have a few different methods you can try. Also this can be pretty heavy and on weaker pc's can cause freezes when loads of textures being upscalled(ie. when screen changes), if you want it sharper you can additionally try changing texture filtering from auto to "nearest" with res at least same or above as your display/window res(you don't really have to go to any super high res with this through, x4 is enough for 1080p) this will give you all the sharpness and with enough texture upscalling shouldn't look too terrible either.
