I'll venture a guess that he has an ATI or AMD GPU, since that's been the most common cause of this problem so far. Try updating your GPU drivers. If you're on an old ATI or AMD card (Radeon HD 4000 series or older), use 11.11a.

We should really somehow detect these ancient Radeon drivers and pop up a message telling people to upgrade to at least 11.11a..
