LG G2 vs Galaxy Note 3
I'm in the final stages of buying a phone, and it's down to the G2 and Note 3, and running PPSSPP is one of the tiebreakers. Hardware wise I know the Note 3 is more powerful, but how much of an actual discrepancy in emulation speed should I expect that to create, both currently and in the future? Any insight would be appreciated.

RE: LG G2 vs Galaxy Note 3
Both have the same hardware, the problem here is that Snapdragon powered phones and tablets are a train wreck performance wise in PPSSPP. Hope the team looks in the issue soon.
The main difference here is that the Note 3 has 3gb of ram, mostly useful for S-Pen related things, and its bloated to the insanity by touchwiz interface. As a former Samsung user, never, i say, i will never go back to touchwiz. Its crap, slow and bloated like hell. RE: LG G2 vs Galaxy Note 3
Thanks for the replies, and sorry I didn't realize that it's considered off topic. So basically the extra RAM on the Note is mostly negated by overhead? That makes my decision a little simpler. Also, I now see that they have the same processor clocked differently. Why is that and does that change anything in the slightest?

RE: LG G2 vs Galaxy Note 3
i owned note 3 about 2-3 weeks and i think samsung have improved touchwiz. i choose note 3 aside from mobile gaming is to simplify my note-taking while working or daily life. multitasking/floating apps also feel very good as i can take note/watch video/reading/copy paste/sketch/calculation/web browsing without hassle. extra ram really convenient for this purpose. and i didnt feel bloatware really annoying atm. of course removing bloatware will give extra ram for other apps to run smoothly and remove wasted storage space.
and 1 thing i would like to advise if you spend much time on mobile gaming eg. android game, emulator, you should consider about the battery life and device temp while playing too. i own htc one x+ before and i only manage to play less than 2 hrs on drastic emulator (nds) even though it not use much 3d graphic and the temp often rising to 54 degree celcius which i need to use screen protector + casing in order not to burn my hand. with note 3 the temp always maintain below 40 when playing ppsspp/drastic and i can spend more time play nds game up to 4-5 hrs if switch to plane mode and adjust screen brightness. and with usb 3charger, i charged mine from 20% to 100% approx 1hr 30mins which is quite fast. |

RE: LG G2 vs Galaxy Note 3
Are you sure the Galaxy Note 3 has Snapdragon? I doubt every phone has it. The touch whiz works fine with me. Nothing wrong. You are just assuming because you feel like it is.

Get a OnePlus One.. same specs as Note 3, a little better actually. But with small price for 16gb $299 or 64gb $349. I have it.. PPSSPP runs great!

Not sure you will see this, but how the hell did you get PPSSPP to run on your OnePlus One? No matter what I try, it's a trainwreck with 10fps or less and super distorted sound. Sorry for posting in old thread. |
