It's possible but you have to do it via commandline launch arguments for now, until the devs incorporate it into the UI proper. I was looking into topics but many people report glitches etc. I don't have the games, so I can't personally comment from experience, but apparently they still have some issues, especially when it comes to the torchlight bits (which can be resolved by ticking the "Disable Stencil Test" hack apparently). Expect other glitches though. EDIT:- There's also this gamebreaking bug in Silent Hill Origins. https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp/issues/6636 PPSSPP Modern Testbed:- Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz 16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz Windows 7 x64 SP1 PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:- Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz 8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz Windows 7 x64 SP1 |

RE: Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars
I'm using a PC version of PPSSPP and when I tried to emulate the game it had problems with flickering HUD, menus and shadows. I tried older emu versions to no avail. Then I started playing with the settings and found the culprit: Vertex cache. Turning it off solved all graphical issues. Hope it helps someone. Oh, and the game works at higher than 2x resolutions (checked 3x and 4x).

Thanks for chipping in, but are you sure that the HUD elements still display properly at rendering resolutions higher than 2x? They disappear at 3x and above for me. The game runs just fine otherwise. It'd be great to know what your GPU/System Specs are so that we can figure out why the issue differs between systems. You can find them in the emulator itself. (PPSSPP -> Settings -> System -> Developer Tools -> System Information). Mine are listed in my signature. RE: Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars
It's a laptop:
Win 7 x64 with SP1, Pentium B960 2.2 GHz (Dual core), 4GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce 710m, driver version 337.88. I think it's because of the GPU: Radeons historically had worse OGL support. But that's just my guess. |

RE: Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars
Turn off Vertex Cache. And don't set the rendering resolution to 5x or higher.

You should be using: 0.9.9.1 Found here: http://www.ppsspp.org/downloads.html Or if you want to be right up to date, here are the nightly builds: http://buildbot.orphis.net/ppsspp/index.php Have fun my friend. |
