RE: Tactics ogre : Let us cling together
Hi. Im trying to play this game on Android on latest version. It loads intro fine but when you get past tarot cards it hangs at the loading screen. Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot or fix?

Edit: got it working with a new rip but crashes after first battle.

RE: Tactics ogre : Let us cling together
Hey,

Tactics Ogre seems to have a problem where either just flickers non stop and crashes after the Square Enix logo or boots the introduction over and over again, never getting to the title screen. It only boots with buffed rendering enabled. Hope you guys can look into this. Thanks!

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 @ 1.6GHz QuadCore

Tried Both play store latest build and v0.9.8-1088-ga31194a

RE: Tactics ogre : Let us cling together
Works fine for me on Windows at least. Make sure "multithreaded" is not enabled.

uncheck "multithreaded" solved crashes but the screen still flicker if using frameskip,,
this issue not occur in the old build,,

RE: Tactics ogre : Let us cling together
What's the first build that flickers with frameskip and the last one that doesn't?

v0.9.8-1351-g756ad88
64-bit on Windows 7

Here's my PC's build
http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/pbdrmG

I'm having my BGM stuttering sometimes in the game, tried a bunch of settings to get it fixed but I couldn't get it fixed.
I think the SFX is interrupting the BGM somehow thus making it stutter.

Here's a video of my problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrTbiTA7e60
A longer video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nsB3XomSmA

The red coloured errors seem to show when the stutter happens. http://i.imgur.com/4N71h2j.png
So basically this gets printed for every sound stutter:
PHP Code:
08:20:061 taco_thread  E[KERNEL]: HLE\sceKernelThread.cpp:2468 sceKernelTerminateThread(291): already stopped
08
:20:070 taco_thread  I[KERNEL]: HLE\sceKernelThread.cpp:2244 sceKernelStartThread(thread=291argSize=4argPtr=0bfff430)
08:20:163 bg thread 0  I[KERNEL]: HLE\sceKernelThread.cpp:2284 __KernelReturnFromThread

For windows ppsspp:
was unable to play just before or past Tarot. i unchecked mipmapping, and now i can play the game from quite lot ppsspp builds.
maybe that can help some of you who can't play it.

RE: Tactics ogre : Let us cling together
I just want to share that I was able to play the game again from my Android phone with the latest build by:

1. disabling simulate block transfers
2. turning frameskip to off

RE: Tactics ogre : Let us cling together
Yeah, Simulate Block Transfers is an absolute speed killer in this game, even on more powerful devices. Performance on my laptop is reduced by close to 50% (251 VPS -> 140 VPS) by enabling the function, and it doesn't seem like it's doing much in this game either.

Best disable it for this game in particular if you're having performance issues.

NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz
16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:-
Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

tactics ogre poor performance on 0.9.9
Hello, i'm playing this game wich used to run full speed on my samsung grand 2 and 0.9.8. But now ppsspp automaticaly updated to 0.9.9 and this game started to run at a much slower speed. I've checked the new option "disable slower effects" but no result. It's possible to downgrade to 0.9.8 on android?

RE: Tactics ogre : Let us cling together
Merged. Have you been through Solarmystic's guide on performance? http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=5236

If that didn't help, you'll need to uninstall the current version you have, and grab an older version from the downloads section on the main site (I'd link you, but the main site appears to be down right now..) to grab 0.9.8.

Also, most of the 0.9.8 development builds are still here: http://buildbot.orphis.net/ppsspp/ so it might be beneficial to try a few to see where your problem began (it'd make it a lot easier for us to try and fix the speed problem).

RE: Tactics ogre : Let us cling together
I think this game uses a block transfer for mostly pointless reasons. You can disable that setting in Graphics, second thing down (it's the first checkbox you'll see.)
