RE: Final Fantasy IV : The complete collection
Hey allSmile long time reader, new member here and I have a question. I am currently playing the after years on the ouya with build v0.9.6-889-gb1d6eef and Am having a random bug when using a tent/cottage. Its quite rare but sometimes when I use them It crashes ppsspp. Ive since started using save states before using one due to time lost grinding.

Final Fantasy IV : The complete collection[WIN7]
PPSSPP is crashing on my pc in the Tower of Babil, when fighting the mysterious girl with Edge and his team. When she starts summoning Ifrit, the program halts, and a windows error report appears.
I tried using the 64 and 86 executables, disabling buffering, and different versions (0.9.6.2 and 0.9.7). Also tried saving and loading in-game, not with PPSSPP, but it didn't work Sad. Hope anyone can help me out with this one.

My specs:
Windows 7 SP1 64bit
Intel Core i5 750 2.6ghz
3GB DDR3
Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 7850 OC edition

Thanks!

EDIT: just tried this, and it worked. Seems to be a related issue

DVendy, I already tried 32-bit and it does the same thing on either 32-bit or 64-bit version. Sad Fight, broken cutscene, broken game.

I was having this issue as well, and disabling sound before the dragon shows up made it work. As soon as the dragon is there I was able to turn the sound back on and continue playing. This was on the 32 bit version.
rep+ for the help!

EDIT2: happening again with Ramuh. Disabling sound doesn't seem to work this time, though. This worked:

1. The Summon crash:
To anyone having the ppsspp crash take place when an enemy does a summon. I didn' start seeing that error until I went into the Tower of Babil in the Overworld. One enemy, the Sorcerer, will try to summon creatures if you kill his companion Ghost Knights. When he performed the summon, ppsspp would crash to desktop. To solve this, I turned on Low quality splines and bezier curves (speed up) and ppsspp stopped crashing when the Sorecerer performed a summon. Based upon this evidence, maybe enabling this option will help with other enemies that summon.

A nearby save or savestate might help.

that white pillar there is always visible on the world map screen in roughly the same place as im moving about . more of its kind appear when i enter the mist cave.

pretty much tried every setting on 0.96 and 0.95 on two different computers with no luck.

also not sure if its related or not but theres no "battle shatter" effect when entering random battles like on actual psp.

EDIT: upload of mist cave example.

so i hate to be annoying but could someone tell me if its something im doing wrong on my end or is this a common issue?

Those glitches have been there for a long time. No settings will fix it currently.

I myself reached the spot where Mysterious Girl summons Ifrit and where PPSSPP crashes. So far the best workaround is switching to low quality spline bezier before the battle begins. I linked an archive containg the followings:
- crash dump data;
- game save data (go to the right after exiting the save room, the mysterious girl is in the middle top of a large room from nearby, the path is straight-forward). For some reason it may be necessary click over the address bar and press Enter to start the download.
It is possible for PPSSPP to not crash, but instead to show some artifacts instead, I included some screenshots. This might be related in a bizarre way to issue 4234.

For me the game is playable, but I can't access the menu when I press start no matter what. I'm using version 0.9.8 on Windows 8 with 4 gigs of ram.

That's because the game's menu opens with triangle, not start.

Ugh, sorry, I'm such a klutz. I'm still getting used to all of this, since I played the original game on GameBoy Advance.

It appears the crash when enemy summons is fixed now since Unknown's GE related fixes and rescheduling fixes were merged into master.

FF IV graphics bug
Hi,
So first, excuse me if I'm not in the good section for this, or if I make some language mistake (I'm french so I don't master english)
I tried the last version available of ppsspp (0.9.8) cause I wanna make a LP of Final Fantasy IV The Complete Collection.
But I've got some graphics bug, like a small white line in the map and character got a blue aura or I dunno what.
So, how can I configure my emulator please ? I tried but I dunno how to fix the problem.
