It could be that the game is capped at 30 fps animation that's why it doesn't look any smoother even at 60 fps. oops XD Athlon x4 635 @3.5 660 OC 2GB 4GB DDR3 @7-7-7-20 Gamers cannot gain anything without first giving something in return, to obtain something of equal value must be lost that is gaming world's first law of equivalent exchange. RE: 60FPS patches for PSP games that run at 30FPS
I know it's a dumb, potentially unstable hack but I feel I'd be remiss not to bring up every option. The animations still seem as choppy but I didn't mess with it that much and depending if/how key framed animations are used, it might never look smooth anyway. A lot of these games (not just 20fps ones but 30fps too) are animated at 15fps to save resources at runtime. The camera feels smoother though. The game will run at 300% but cheat engine will slow the game down back to 100% so the emulator is pushing out 60fps but the game is running at normal speed. Fraps also confirms the game is outputting 60fps. I find it hard to play some games under 30fps but everyone has a different sensitivity.
If you want to try it out(maybe see if those 60fps actually make it to screen and aren't just thrown away by cheat engine) you can just go into the game settings and set alternative speed to 300%, switching it on in game with the '~' key, and then just enabling speedhack in cheatengine and setting it to 0.333. |

^That's placebo, as I said already, it's wrong mathematics.

I've tried this method just now with Monster Hunter Portable 3rd and no, the emulator might say it's more than 30 fps but it's still running at 30 fps animation. The problem is the game may be capped at 30fps animation. The way cheat engine would slow down the game probably doesn't allow for the frames in between to be kept but speeding a 20 fps to 60 fps will have the game running too fast BUT at 60 fps. Then slowing the engine to only output at a third of the speed has it normally playable. I don't believe that the process will allow for you to increase your perceived frame rate but I have no idea what about the math you don't like. Either way it doesn't seem to help so I guess I'll keep looking for memory hacks. |

The whole concept of speeding up and then slowing down something is the simple math I have above, it's anything else but wrong or difficult to understand for those that are not familiar with what those tools do. If that makes more sense then here's another one: (x * 3) / 3 = x replace x with the framecap of your game (i.e. 30) You are just wasting resources by doing that plus, you kill alot of stuff that depend on perfect timing which could result into terrible bugs/hangs. |

RE: 60FPS patches for PSP games that run at 30FPS
So... is there a Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD 60fps hack already? Some days ago I saw ppl talking about it but the hack seems to get it to 15 instead of 60 fps.
Thanks =] |

RE: 60FPS patches for PSP games that run at 30FPS
Do I just have to change the speedhack fuction in the settings to 0.333 or do I have to download "cheat engine"?

Jeanne d'Arc:
08809250 1020FFF4 beq zero, at, 08809224 Change to: 08809250 00000000 nop This one seems successful. I didn't notice any change in gameplay speed, but I'm not 100% sure if it's rendering 60 different frames per second. It's currently running at 40 fps in PPSSPP (incorrectly), it should run at 30 fps. -[Unknown] |
