how to compressed file with winrar

,,,, i need someone help. i need to compressed file game for saving my hardisk capacity but unfortunately i don't know to using it. my pc's window xp sp3 win32 x86. i have winrar version 5,01 . please tell me how to do that.

Right click on the file or folder you want to compress and select add to archive.

yes you can compress it, there's thing that you can't compress it into small size, Like unknown file name that your windows can't detected for example, a game files like data1.bin which can detected by poweIso or other Iso detector, but when you open it, the softwae said invalid files or something, that file you can't compressed into small size, see te image below pic 1 is information of compressed archive which is, i managed to gain the compression ratio average to 27% from 2gb size unpacked to 582mb compressed, pic 2 is the setting whic i use for compressing, but remember to use latest winrar unlocked version

yep, that the last version i used to compressing with supproting RAR5 compression, but remember to tick Lock Archive and Create Solid Archive, and compression method is Best, and dictionary size is 4096kb, AND if you want to split it, i often use 700mb for file under 500mb or 1gb, sometime is workin, Otoh, remember too the file that you can compress is the windows only can reconigze, other than that you can't, cuz i got 100 experiment with that to save my HDD space, good luck man...
