PPSSPP Homebrew Store

PPSSPP Homebrew Store
As you know, there are a bunch of pretty decent free homebrew games for the PSP and it would be neat to be able to download (for free, of course) and play them directly from the emulator. This would give people an ability to try out the emulator a bit before going through the effort of dumping ISOs.

To that end, I've built the "Homebrew Store" which is built into PPSSPP 0.9.6 but hidden. To enable it, add the following setting to your ppsspp.ini, which you can find in Memstick/PSP/SYSTEM:

[General]
HomebrewStore = True

You will now find a new button at the bottom of the Homebrew & Demos tab. The store is very barebones and has no graphics but it does work to download and install games from it.

In the future, we could also have real PSP game demos in the store, possibly.

So, for the adventurous among you, please try it and report any issues Smile

Also, if you know some good homebrew games that are worth putting in the store, please list them here.

RE: PPSSPP Homebrew Store
That's a good idea, even if I'm not very interested in homebrews Smile

Gotta be amazed Henrik, you've put on quite a network here. (along with a bunch of *.ppsspp.org sites)

It's not like it's running on a lot of servers, if you ping all the subdomains you'll find the truth...

RE: PPSSPP Homebrew Store
The homebrew store is an excellent idea. Just what I felt was missing. Although there's a handful amount of games in there it has a lot of potential

RE: PPSSPP Homebrew Store
Henrik could you put this game on the store, i am sure every PPSSPP user would love this game.

Sorry if i am not allowed to post from other site. Blush

Edit: Tested on Windows (x86) using v0.9.6-63-g9c545ee

Runs well, the graphics are sharp & audio seems pretty good.
But when you run out of lives, game freezes sadly.

Update: Tested on Windows (x86) using v0.9.6-77-g0116aa0

Runs better, and no freeze any more at end of game.

RE: PPSSPP Homebrew Store
Add emulators for PSP from this thread is also good idea: http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=2616

Might be good if it did come with a category such as "games", "applications", "emulators" etc.

Only problem is a lot of the emulators don't want to work, just crashes PPSSPP completely. Sad

RE: PPSSPP Homebrew Store
If you want to know the most popular homebrew games Henrik then check out this page:

http://dl.qj.net/psp/homebrew-games.html

Sort it by number of downloads and there you have it. A brilliantly simple yet addicting one that isn't high on that list if Attack of the Mutants (Modpack Edition)

@JobKenton, Good choice, loved the Mod pack, I second this for the store.

@Stevec, isn't that a full price game. Huh
