#1
So as the update for PPSSPP came out today, i'm just wondering if downloading it will wipe off my save game data?
#2

It shouldn't affect it really, as it doesn't overwrite where the save data is stored.
CPU - Intel Core i5 3570 3.4/3.8 GHz (Turbo Boost)
GPU - MSI GeForce GTX 660 2 GB GDDR5
RAM - 8 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1333
OS - Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
HDD - 1 TB Western Digital 7200 RPM

It wiped off my data on my Android phone and it displayed a message which told me that the save data was from and older file, so it didn't load. Would a backup prevent this problem?

Save states do get effected sometimes..
In game memory should be fine though.
Better safe than sorrySmile

If you save your games ingame that should be fine.. I would highly recommend that as savestates break from build to build sometimes.. gl

As stodag said, you tried to use savestates, while you should be fine with in game saves (the ones under "SAVEDATA").
Since English is not my first language sorry for some misspelling on my posts
