PPSSPP on Nexus 10
Hello,
I have following Problem: I can't run games at fullspeed on my Nexus 10. I've tried Crisis Core and Kingdom Hearts Birth of Sleep. I followed this guide: http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=5236 The Problem is, that the games flicker with frameskip, and without I get only 80% speed max. I doesn't have an other device to test it and in my opinion the big resolution of my Nexus 10 could be the Problem. Is this possible, or what is the reason for that? Thanks to everyone who helps me and sorry for my bad English. Greetings hasderder |

(1-9) Refer to this chart for a reference point for good frameskipping numbers in a variety of games:- http://i.minus.com/ibapiyHANlUU0o.PNG From the chart, Crisis Core should be good with setting it to 4 or 8 or any other even number with Buffered Rendering off. KH BBS should be good with even numbers too. Also ensure that you're updated with the latest PPSSPP dev builds:- http://buildbot.orphis.net/ppsspp/ PPSSPP Modern Testbed:- Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz 16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz Windows 7 x64 SP1 PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:- Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz 8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz Windows 7 x64 SP1 |

RE: PPSSPP on Nexus 10
Yes, I've tried every number. Some work better, but at each number of frameskip, I have flicker.

Are you using the latest dev builds I've linked to in my previous post? Flickering during frameskipping used to be an issue in older builds, but should've been resolved with all devices in the new builds. EDIT:- Do you also happen to have the experimental Multithread option enabled? It can also be the cause of the screen flicker. RE: PPSSPP on Nexus 10
Yes, I've tried the newest version, the version from the playstore and the version from the guide. With the newest version and a frameskip of 2, it works better than the other, but even there is a little bit flicker, too.
EDIT: Multithreading is off, but it works better with :-) |

You should be using the latest versions anyway, even for Android, since the ARMJIT issue has been resolved. I've updated my guide accordingly. The only reason why an older build was recommended for Android devices (0.8.1.-1090) was the ARMJIT issue that broke certain games for Android/ARM devices. It has now been resolved somewhat in the latest builds. Thanks for the feedback by the way. RE: PPSSPP on Nexus 10
Just read up on your device. The resolution is pretty insane for that screen size, it has an even higher PPI than the Retina Ipads.
In that case, it might be actually more beneficial to turn ON Buffered Rendering than to keep it OFF, since the way Buffered Rendering works right now for Android devices, the picture rendered will be native 2560x1600 resolution which would be absolutely bonkers for your device to handle. Read this rather informative coment by [Unknown] (one of the lead developers on this project) about the matter:- https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp/pull/...t-21984075 PPSSPP Modern Testbed:- Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz 16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz Windows 7 x64 SP1 PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:- Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz 8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz Windows 7 x64 SP1 |

RE: PPSSPP on Nexus 10
Non buffered rendering isn't looking very well on the large screen and in addition to that, it has many slowdowns(without frameskip). With frameskip(at each number) I get freezes for maybe 5secs. So it's not very playable

So it's not very playable Which is why I recommend that you use Buffered Rendering instead, since the actual rendered resolution of the emulator will be much smaller, and therefore much faster on your device, which has a massive native resolution.
