Some Crashes on some Latest Builds.
Hello , I have a few problems in the latest revision (specially the v0.8.1-1163-gc8ce303)... it crashes when I load a game/iso... BUT , the v0.8.1-1098-gc9003de , the one that I am using before is running fine...

I need some answers to this.

Welcome.

We need more details.

1. Which games crash the emulator when you load them? Some of them or all of them?

2. What are your PC's specifications? (CPU,GPU,RAM,etc)

3. What does Windows say when the program crashes? A detailed Windows Crash Report (the box that pops up when applications crash) would be helpful.

4. Can you narrow down the exact version of PPSSPP that starts to crash games for you? Doing this will help us, help you fix the problem.

2. AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ , NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT 1GB DDR2 , 2GB RAM
Windows XP SP2

3. "PPSSPP has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

You're welcome, and thanks for the feedback.

We need to look deeper into the Error Report, I need you to click on the click here button/blue underlined hyperlink in the box that pops up when the emulator crashes again and take a screenshot of it (or just copy and paste the crash details)

Also, what i meant by question 4 was, is there ANY other revision between 1098 and 1163 that does not crash for you?

We're trying to figure out the first affected version here. The gap between 1098 and 1163 means that there could be others between them that could be the real culprit.

Try downloading a few builds between 1098 and 1163 (for example 1131 and others) from the buildbot and test them out to see if any of them work/crash. It's a boring process, but it's really needed so that we can get to the bottom of the problem.

It'd also be helpful if you can report the results of each individual test.

I dunno if this is the one you're looking for.. cause it seems that i can't copy the long error report with lots of 0x000-something.. hope it helps..


oh! and it seems like the emulators that are crashing (in my pc) started in the revision: v0.8.1-1158-g51ffdfa ..

v0.8.1-1157 down to 1098 (i guess) is running fine...

Hmm.. I've an idea what it could be but I just need to confirm one more thing.

oh btw .. what graphics option can I safely change with this copied in the .ini file ? coz sometimes i change the buffer rendering type and other stuffs for fixing some games like in the dangan ronpa..

on the otherhand, it seems like I can't use the Quickload state .
whenever I press the F4 it always comes to this

You can change the buffer rendering type safely for Danganronpa, don't worry about that. Just remember to change it back for games that don't need it, since the Read Framebuffers to memory is a performance killer.

Also, do not enable Stream VBO. I think that is the option that caused the crash for you in the first place.

Glad it worked for you. It means my suspicions were correct.

EDIT:- About the savestate crashes, are you trying to load a savestate from a different version? You can't do that, savestates from one version can only be used in the same one. You cannot transfer savestates between different revisions.
