The best suggestion is to do like
everyone else and wait for the next update. And pray, mucho beaucoup pray.
You can also use this emulator jpscp, more slow than PPSSPP but FFT : TWOL work... But this is very slow.

Same problem here, after finishing the first battle of the first chapter, it lags on a black screen with an error message:
MemmapFonctions.cpp:91 Read from Hardware : Invalid address (some memory address)

Some of the posts . I was just pointing at the error in the newly released version. I 've even seen the code but there is no much I can do. I was thinking about rebuilding it on my computer but I don't have time to deal with that. I guess I will wait like everyone else and hope our heroes fix it.

Yep, the MemmapFonctions.ccp:91 error is only the tip of the iceberg, after few minutes the black screen disappear if you are choose the option "ignore illegal reads/writes". After the third battle "Saving Private Argath/Algus" a black screen appear with many lines in the log "HLE\sceAudio.ccp:242 sceAudioSetChannelDataLen...." and it is here to stay. If i disable the "Use Media Engine" option there are just a line "MemmapFunctions.ccp58 Unknown GetPointer 00000000 PC 00000000 LR 00000000"...

Why thank you Still a lot of cosmetic bugs and some balance issues to work out, but it's always a work in progress. But yeah, I'm dying to be able to play it on a PC so I can record playthroughs (not to mention the possibilities it would open up to the entire FFT cult-like community if netplay ever becomes available. We would create the de facto PVP balanced tournament patch)
So I was looking here for a solution to the aforementioned problem with it getting stuck on a black screen after the first real battle, and as I was doing so the game finally loaded the next screen. I just had to wait a long ass time. Still probably more issues later on, but I thought you all may like to know.
I have V.0.8.1
Windows 32-bit version (although my system is 64-bit)
I'm in the U.S., but I have no idea where the file I got originated
Also I love drbretto's multiplayer idea, this is something I've always wanted in FFT.

Same boat as everyone else, when you get to the black screen just leave it for 5 minutes or so, it will eventually load, it's annoying but it's the only solution i've got thus far, if anyone has a fix for it, please post it.
With latest build (v0.8.1-696-g679a6a9) i can pass intro battle. I didn't play much, but i enter the second battle without problem so far. I'm using ULES00850 with Windows Build.
