So recently I bought this phone since I heard that it was a very strong phone and tried out ppsspp on it. However, while the speed I get is not terrible, it is not as good as I hoped. I heard people got 55-60 vps easily on games like dissidia and kingdom hearts. For dissidia, I get around 40-60 depending on the map, and for kingdom hearts, I get around 30 in battles and around 50 when im just running around. Btw all my settings are optimal for performance as far as I know. I have buffered rendering off, hardware transform on, jit on, fast mem on, sound off, and unlock cpu overclock to 60. What do you guys think is the problem? Thank you

Ya all games run like crap for me too. Sound seems to really gitter the fps too. Im using the verizon galaxie s4 and this emul doesnt seem optimized for the snapdragon 600

If its power vr.. everyone including myself are having problems with performance/graphics etc.. Have to wait for a fix.

Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't the gpu of snapdragon 600 adreno320? the octacore/exynos version sg4 is the one with powervr gpu.

If that's the case, that's quite disappointing coz it means 1.9ghz of processing power for SoCs still does not meet the requirement for PPSSPP to run games smoothly...(and I think that adreno 320 doesn't bottleneck it).. I guess I'll be betting on snapdragon 800 (fingers crossed) phones for smooth gameplay. But maybe the 1080p rendering of sg4 is quite responsible for the slowdown.

sry, my bad.. your correct. Many more optimisations left to do yet, its still young.. like Henrik said not long ago ppsspp will get faster.

I'm very confused the spec on a samsung s4 makes the psp look like crap. Whats the problem here? How many threads does ppsspp support? I call bullcrap its gpu bound because when sound is disabled the fps hopping is gone. I need a dev reply not a know it all.

Lol, it's the fault of the at3+ decoder xD
I've experienced slowdown since this was added 
Anyway, when I look at the debug info, the slowest function is still related to the gpu :/ with high execution time (the lower, the better )
Anyway, as you said, I'm not an expert  you shouldn't never trust me even if I check before xD

Edit : just checked again, and yep, it's still the gpu under 10ms execution time = no lag... In kingdom heart, I've got 25ms execution time and 35-40vps

even the non powervr phones still run relatively slow,although some can do full speed at certain games (compared to powervr ones of course) so its still gonna be a long time...

I get really good performance on non-3d games on my s4 like dbz shin budokai 1 and 2. Except when i try 3d games like naruto shippuden ultimate ninja storm impact and dbz tenkaichi tag team lag a lot.
